It is time for me to come clean. When I found out Mayfield was starting I was unsettled. From the limited times I had seen him play I thought he was a good stats guy but would have turnovers at the most inopportune time (as if there is a good time) and cost OU games and did not think much of his athleticism. While I still believes he needs to calm his feet down he has been impressive beyond anything I could have imagine. Kudos to the coaches and more importantly Mayfield. He has been great as a qb and leader. I know the remaining games could change perspective but damn has been good.

Soldier, you posted exactly my thoughts. I was truly expecting all three QBs to play before Bob had to "settle" for one of the three. Mayfield has proven me wrong because I assumed he was still the same QB he was at Tech, which wasn't all that good if you really look at his body of work when he was there. The good teams he played against made him look average at best. I failed to take into consideration that he was one year out of high school.

Soldier, I believe you expressed the opinion of 99.44% of us, but you were more honest than we, by stating how you perceived the QB situation. Well Put, and Spot On!! It sure punched my ticket...I was one of the Baker Who? Fans.
