Don"t laugh at square mats, they were square when I was in high school. The mats were square with a plastic sheet on the mat and tucked under the edges of the mat like a sheet on a bed with a square wrestling area on it. When I was in Jr Hi it was just a square mat and when you were off the mat you were out of bounds.
