New Rankings...Iowa drops to 6th

Yeah, I am now thinking the Iowa team score will be closer to the 9th placer's than 3rd's.Per Flo we're now sitting at 6th in the country. Not looking good for the home team.
Given the ranking tournament scores exclude bonus points, besides Caliendo TFs, who in the line-up is going to reliably generate bonus points for Iowa?
Wouldn't say reliably but still quite possible PK and Drake in the first two rounds.
I'm still hopeful for a NC for AF, finals for Caliendo, high AA for PK, and AA for Dean, Drake, and Ryder, which will probably give us a 4th-5th place finish. Sadly, I don't like the way this season is progressing...
Perhaps BK and Drake in the first two rounds, but I don't see PK going out before the AA rounds.
Angelo is capable of putting up big points in early rounds if he actually shoots. So is Ben, if he actually shoots.
Yep Nashville, I think both get into AA. My comment was in regards to others scoring bonus points than just Cali. I think PK and Drake could both see semis, just wont be scoring bonus past 1st 2 rounds.
PK is a pretty good bonus points guy. I could see him and Mickey racking up bonus. There really isn't a top guy/pinner on the roster. Williams can be a pinner if he goes big early rounds.
I would argue the entire darn Iowa lineup is capable of putting up big points, especially early on in the tournament. That's kinda been the issue.

I concur.Kueter only has one bonus point win in his career over someone in the top 50 of wrestlestat.
Drake is going to have a tough seed at BTT and unless he wins the big tens, it will be tough at nationals.
That is a shocking stat given his pedigree.
Losing Mo is definitely a kick in the n*ts. The margin of error for top 3 definitely shrunk considerably. Need everyone wrestling their best in March….
Ayala ranked number 10 as a senior with no Jax Forrest in the rankings yet, either. Ouch.
Lots of comments on Ferrari lack of offense post loss to psu. I have thought for a while that winning every top match 2 to 1 or 2 to 2 with riding time in double OT is not going to play out well at nationals. While it has worked out well so far that doesn't mean it will at nationals where he has to win 2 or 3 of those matches back to back. He needs to find some offense, he isn't even pretending to want to score outside of counters atm.

If ferrari doesnt pick up offense, he will get on refs radar, and when that happens hes either going to get offense going or get stall points against him that kills his 1 pt win strategy.

Yep. I think both him and HWT are marked men as far as activity levels go until it’s proven otherwise. Refs are going to be on them quick.
If his strategy is to win 2-1 or in ride-outs, that’s a plan to basically take it to a coin flip against any top 10 opponent.
As everyone notes, it doesn’t have to be that way, but that seems to be who he is.
Welsh doesn’t shoot until OT against good wrestlers. 2024 NCAA’s wins; 4-2, 4-1 SV, 4-1 SV, 4-1 SV and lost in the finals 2-0. Didn’t give up a TD in the 2024 NCAA tournament.
Is riding Ferrari’s *** into the ground for not getting a TD against Welsh really justified? Welsh is easily top five, as the toughest guy to takedown, at any weight.
One could argue Angelo needs to get better on the mat to beat him.
The problem is he didn't come within an acre of scoring one. There wasn't a single committed shot the entire match
And if you're in a 50/50 match three times in a row, you only have a 12.50% chance of winning a title.
Tournament wins of course, and against Angelo. If you recall he went against Starocci when he had his bum knee. Starocci is very good defensively too but he also pinned a guy in the finals.
Welsh gave up a takedown in his next match to Perez of Northwestern.
Remember - PK came out of the 11 or 12 hole last year to get 3rd. He's been there
