That was a decent scrimmage, not full boar all out but good back and forth. it will be good to see how the guys come along between now and sept/oct right before the hard stuff really kicks in. would love to watch some pick up games at Craft center.
Cal did everything he could to not remind them why they were there.
Two observations:
1 -- This is the first time in my life, I've ever watched a video of a UK practice/game/etc. and not recognized a single player.
2 -- If we shoot 100% in a game -- like we did in this scrimmage -- we will probably win.

J Rob will be knocking on the door of all American this year. Dude looks smooth, skilled and is really comfortable in what Pope is doing.

That clips shows the reasons I think Williams will start over Garrison. He's just an elite passer from the 5 spot.

Kriisa is going to be a killer. I just do not understand why so many people on here are low on him. Dude has range and makes nice, clean passes to open guys.

I’ve seen people saying UK got worked and now this saying they won by 17. My guess is the truth is somewhere in the middle. Either way, good experience for the guys and nice way to bridge the gap from Cal to Pope era.
They sure looked like they belonged on the floor playing some of Ky's past best. That is what I was looking for. Also, Pope's coaching shows.
Overall they looked good for this time of year. Perry is going to have to learn to play defense if he is going to see the court.
KSR guy said he was told from someone close to TBT and who was at scrimmage that "we got our asses kicked"; "we" being TBT.

For Brea someone said he had a previous injury going back to Dayton (knee maybe?) and they're holding him from 5x5 for a little bit as a precaution. Butler I'm not sure. Would've loved to see him match up against Bledsoe however

I wouldn't say they are the two best guards. I believe Kriisa and Oweh will have something to say about that. By the way, Brea is more of a wing than guard. He and Robinson will play the 3. Brea is a catch and shoot 3 player, hardly qualifies as a "best guard" label, he does nothing else other than shoot 3's. Now he may be the "best shooter" on the team, but that is % based from last year. I think Oweh is going to get some serious run. Oweh ,Kriisa, and Butler will fill most of the minutes at guard, with maybe Chandler hopefully contributing also. Robinson / Brea at the 3. Carr and Almonor at the 4, and Williams / Garrison the 5. There will be small ball and "shooter" lineups depending on the opponent.
IMO, the starting 5 :
Butler
Kriisa
Robinson
Carr
Williams
Kriisa will play the PG/2G, Butler the same. Oweh 2G, Chandler 2G. I say 2G instead of shooting guard because Butler is not really a shooter / scorer, same with Oweh to an extent. His % was on low volume shooting from 3.

would anyone really be shocked if our guys won by 15 plus? a lot of these guys haven't played competitively in a while. Our guys have been playing ball pretty much year round for four or five years.
Kyle Tucker has apparently said Krissa defense will be an issue.

Same here. They are looking really good already and nowhere near what they could be like before the season really starts. Am I right that a couple of our best guys didn't play in the scrimmage? Read that somewhere else.
