Wife & I rented it a couple of nights ago. Not bad. I'd give it a solid B+.

Wow, it's been several years since I've seen True Grit. I know I liked it...just so long ago, it's hard for me to compare.

News of the World was directed by Paul Greengrass. He also did some of the Jason Bourne movies. He did the Tom Hanks Captain Phillips movie too. If you liked Captain Phillips, I think you'd like this movie.

fwiw I meant the modern rendition of True Grit, not the John Wayne version (which was great but IMO significantly different)
