He used to be one of my favorites…..not any longer. He’s been insufferable this season every game I’ve heard him. The Arkansas/Georgia game last week was probably the worst ā€œhomerā€ announcing I’ve ever heard. He was slobbering all over Cal and DJ just begging them to win.
ESPN in general is a pathetic joke of a network anyway so he fits right in. It’d be so refreshing to actually SEE a replay every now and then and actually get told what the call was.

What got me tonight was how he goes on a rant about how the continuation call on the Zeigler drive and bucket was a good call because the NCAA should change the rule to be more like the NBA. In the next breath defends the refs for going to the monitor after every call because ā€œthey are following the rule bookā€ when in actuality it’s a reflection on the refs lacks of balls to make a call.

So good on them for NOT calling it right, then good on them for following the letter of the law? How about calling a spade a spade. It was a bad call AND it’s ridiculous to use the monitor as a crutch to cover your insecurities?

He seems to have gone with Cal, just like Seth Greenberg. Two guys who I always thought gave Kentucky a little extra love. Now seem to be mad that we didn't want to keep a failing coach around..
You get the double whammy with Jimmy. He resents UK because he was here with HIS coach Eddie Sutton when we were placed on probation AND he is an Arkansas Alum.

So, he tries to hide it, but it slips out WAY MORE now than it used to.

Did you all notice how FAST he flipped to praising UK once the game was over after he talked the WHOLE game favorably for the Vols.

He REALLY gets on my nerves these days!!!

I loved when Meshack was mugging Oweh before Oweh got called for the offensive foul.

ā€œIt was the correct call.ā€

How about mention the first foul before the second foul?

Dykes is terrible and has been terrible. For a long, long time.

But that’s just my opinion. Obviously. Some people seem to love him.

And you know what? I’m happy for them. Happy they got to hear their favorite announcer tonight call the victory for the Cats.

TBH, I didn't notice him being that terrible. Seemed like his normal self to me. He can get repetitive during games, but I generally don't have a problem with Dykes.

Noticed that too, Natron! ā€œGood job letting Tennessee do whatever they want.ā€

Oh thats right, hes Arkansas Alum.

Its just weird because for the last 15 years, there were times where I thought Dykes was one of the ONLY guys in college ball media who enjoyed what UK and Cal were doing. Him, Andy Katz... and that's about it. Everyone else hated it to some degree.

This right here. Also praising him as a defensive specialist he fouled there and was holding Robinsons wrist/arm the next possession. A joke.

The continuation call for Z was a terrible terrible call. We reached in Waaaaay out on the floor . And of course Dykes praised it.

I like that he had to say 3 times how much this should be a foul next year. No one wants to see fouls out at the free throw line before a player is even getting into a shooting position.

He was a cheerleader for UT tonight, he must have had money on Tennessee.
Nah. Jimmy the Mouth just spent 3 days preparing for a UT slobberfest and Kentucky just bi*ch slapped UT and Poor Little Jimmy.

He wasn't prepared to talk anything good about UK. He wanted to talk about Arkansas and his buddy Cal coming into Rupp with UK on a big losing streak.

We bursted his party balloon tonight.
