I think it's a log jam issue. Tyrel likely replacing Arnold in 3 years, but Jarrel would sit all 5 years behind Lundington. So JUCO for 2 would allow them to both start for the Hawks for 2 years, but not at the same time.Does anybody know what happened with the Miller twins ? Saw that Jarrel is going to Iowa Central and Tyrel is still coming to Iowa City. Is Jarrel going the JUCO route? I felt like the boys had a high ceiling
still possible, before the season starts, they just won't wrestle until second semester. Think Suriano.Given that classes started the day after you posted this, I wholeheartedly agree.![]()
What's the benefit of Torres grey shirting? Caliendo is a senior so it only seems natural for Torres to redshirt and then take over for 4 years.Just got confirmation as well from Torres that he'll be greyshirting this year.
So too, will fellow freshman Paolo Ciatto - a lesser heralded prospect from New York who committed to the Hawkeyes last fall.
That mean's 2/6 2025 commits for Iowa will not be on the official roster in 2025-26.
Leo DeLuca (125), Leister Bowling IV (165), Tyrel Miller (174/184) and Harvey Ludington (197) are all in and accounted for.
There's a lot of noise about the rules changing 5 years to compete 5 years and if you took a RS it would count as one of your 5. I suspect that's what this is about. Now if that's the case it begs the question, why aren't DeLuca and Ludington doing the same. What's the benefit of Torres grey shirting? Also--what are the requirements for grey shirting?
Maybe it's a case where he lives in Iowa City for 1 year to collect in-state tuition. That's fair then.
