They may be moving up in the poll, unsure if any lost in front of them.

So they have the home field. They are coming off the bye, but UofL just had their bye the prior week, so maybe not a huge factor. Kicked UofL's *** last year (who didn't).

High Level Review:

They have wins over UT St, Rice, BC, UNC, and Elon.

34th PPG @ 35 per.

38th PPG allowed @ 21 per.

So it looks like a potential high scoring game.

Honesty Alert:
I haven't seen them play, know nothing of them. Can somebody help us out here with a scouting report?

Gonna be a tough game to win especially on the road. I'll be watching regardless!

Go CARDS!!!

They like to play a fast tempo so they don’t let you substitute on defense. Will test our depth. Safeties can’t cheat towards the line or will get abused more than against BC. Go Cards!

I’ve seen them, and they are a lot like us, just they make fewer mistakes. Undersized in both lines. Two monster wide receivers (Scotty Washington and Sage Surrat) and an NFL draft pick quarterback (Jamie Newman). Newman completes almost 70% of his passes. Running game is decent, but is set up by the threat of the pass. Newman is a very capable dual threat guy who has the second most rushing yards on the team.

Their defensive star is junior Carlos “Boogie” Basham, 6-5, 275# defensive lineman, who has 4.5 sacks on the year. He’s probably an NFL draft pick next May.

In my opinion, they are the second best team in the Atlantic Division, and possibly even the second best team in the ACC. While the top teams in college football could beat them in the trenches. they are good enough to upset anybody in college football if they were lucky enough to get the breaks to go their way on a given day.

If we don’t have better assignment football in the secondary and don’t get pressure on the QB, Wake could throw for ALOT of yards in this game.

Did we record a sack? Non-existent pass rush. Need to improve on that.

No sacks, but that’s to be expected against BC. Unless you have dominant DLinemen (we don’t), you have to stop BC’s running game with the linebackers (blitzing to stop the run). Wake won’t have Dillon and Bailey, so against Wake, the blitzing will be focused on the QB and stopping the pass.
