Figs is Richie Figueroa. He’s a transfer from Arizona State. He will be a senior this year. He won a national championship at 125 as a sophomore but did not place last year.
141: Will either be Tagen Jamison or Cael Hughes. Jamison has been the starter there the last two years but he is big for the weight and as
@chasepollard alluded to he might not be able to make it anymore.
Hughes is a sophomore from Stillwater. He wrestled a couple matches at 133 last year but was very inconsistent. Had some good matches and some bad ones. He was a very highly ranked recruit in high school so hopefully he can put it together.
149: Casey Swiderski is a transfer from Iowa State. He redshirted last year but he took 7th at 149 the year before that.
157: Teague Travis (Sr) has been the starter for us the past couple years at both 157 and 149 and has qualified for nationals both times.
“Robydoo” is Landon Robideau, a very highly ranked incoming true freshman from Minnesota. Very talented a very hard worker from what people say.
165: Dee Lockett is another very highly ranked freshman: Top 3 in the nation regardless of weight. He is a Stillwater boy too.
174: “Funcundo” is Alex Facundo. He transferred here from Penn State. He started for them as a freshman and qualified for nationals but was eventually knocked out of the lineup by Mitch Messenbrink. Despite this he is still a very good wrestler and many people have said he was the best wrestler in the portal this year. I’m not 100% sure what year he is. I believe he is technically a junior but I’ve seen several people say he will probably get a medical redshirt if he wants it so essentially he is a sophomore.
184: Zack Ryder (FR) is another transfer from Penn State. He went 8-0 during his redshirt year last year and was a multi time New York State champion. He trained at David Taylor’s camp in Pennsylvania his senior year.
197: Cody Merrill (FR) is a top 10 recruit from California where he was trained by Daniel Cormier. He went 10-2 during redshirt last year with one of his losses being a close 2-0 loss to eventual national champion Stephen Buchanan.
Kruz Goff is a true freshman from Blackwell I think. 3 time Oklahoma state champion but wasn’t very highly ranked. However he a lot of people have pointed out how talented he is and that he is probably very underrated because he didn’t go to a lot of national tournaments and that he could turn into something special if he really dedicates himself to wrestling.
HWT: you probably know Doucet but he was a 2 year starter here at Heavyweight and was a national qualifier and he has a good chance to AA this year.
