I see where Boston College plays Louisville next year as does Kentucky.

Assuming Barker and Towles are the starting QB's, the results could definitely provide for some interesting discussion.

BC has a crap offense, even worse than UK's this year as far as I know so Towles won't do much there. UK's offense will be much better than BC's. That does not mean any success against UL though for either team.

BC had the #1 rated defense for 2015 and doesn't lose much off of it for next year. Only 1 DB, 1 LB and 3 DL. One of those DL's only played in 3 games.

After reading a BC msg board, they seem to say their OL is terrible.

I'll predict UK's offense looks better than BC next year with Gran and Hinshaw in the fold now.

Their defense will probably take a step back after losing their DC to Michigan.
He was VERY good and a big reason for their success.

I am not sure it will offer interesting discussion. I suspect UK fans will be cheering for PT and his new school, as well as UK in those games. Other than that, the interest meter falls flat for me.

I suppose if one QB is god awful and the other looks like the Heisman winner, someone might try to make some sort of extrapolation of who is better.

Probably so. BC didn't win even one league game this past season.

UofL is gonna make a push next year. They have a dynamic qb which is half the battle. They'll beat Boston College and UK with no sweat.

We will get smashed next year. They return a lot and we have a lot of questions. This was the year and we couldn't do it. Unfortunately, we will be looking for a new head coach after the gauntlet of a schedule we have next year.

if bobby is so much smarter than stoops why did he wait til halftime and down 3 scores to put in the best player on the team? seems to me he went away from his plan because it wasn't working. now if we ever get to point that we can go away from our original plan and it work we'll be cooking with butter.

we all agree that jackson is their best player i think? i think most people i knew thought we'd have the most trouble with him. turns out we had a lot more trouble with jackson but bobby started the other guy and waited til halftime to put in jackson. all the bobby slurping is getting old. he's a good coach and probably better than stoops but he's not belichek and he's not lombardi. if he was genius he'd of started jackson because everyone i knew thought that would give us the worst chance to win.

Bobby P. will continue to beat Stoops like a red-headed step child. You can thank Mitch Barnhart who is by far the worst AD in the SEC and Jurich runs circles around him. We are still the laughing stock of football in the state of Kentucky thanks to Mitch.

Isn't it nice that both WKU and UL beat us easily now? Isn't it nice that we have to go OT vs. EKU to barely win?

That is the JOKE that UK football is.....And Stoops hasn't done one thing to change it besides improve recruiting. Big deal, we still get 5 wins or less per season. Beyond pathetic. For example, just think what Bobby P. would have done with our talent level and offensive weapons last season. You can't coach 6 wins when you have Towles, Boom, and Juice/Badet/Bone/Baker on offense? Don't tell me a real coach wouldn't have done better.

I will never pump sunshine. I will tell it like it is, I don't care if you don't like the truth I just stated. Me and other UK fans will keep saying it until someone at UK gets the message that UK football must do what is necessary to create a winning football team. Get a real coach for God sakes. We are sick of the loser mentality here.

Duke can turn around their program, why can't we? Baylor can turn around their program, why can't we? WKU can turn around their program, why can't we? Vandy turned it around, why can't we? North Carolina can do it, why can't we? South Carolina can do it, why can't we? Should I continue?

We will not spend another cent on UK football until it happens.

Jackson reminds me a lot of Pat White when he was at WVU. Didn't start until late in his Freshman year but was a difference maker. White had over 6,000 yards passing and more than 4,000 yards rushing as a 3.5 year starter. I can see Jackson matching those numbers if he stays healthy.

I watched the game last night, and other than Jackson and a few talented defenders on either side, I wasn't overly impressed with either team.

I know it can't be entirely attributed to luck, but it really is frustrating that Louisville has struck gold three times in the past 1 1/2 decades on the QB front, and we've been scraping silver or bronze once or twice. I really hope Gran and Hinshaw can help Barker or the transfer shine.

You're right on these two points, but he DID make it to the NFL as a coach. That does not happen unless you know your stuff and are among the best Football coaches in the country. Like Coach Brooks; he too was an nfl coach. His success there was limited but he was clearly a notch above the average coach. Like him or not, BP knows the game; knows how to coach; knows how to develop players; knows how to get enough players to be competitive.
He coaching style is more like the pro's than college. Have we ever seen nfl teams draft reprobates and misfits? Their concern has more to do with winning than image.

We had an nfl level coach and let him slip away because of money.

He's not a very intelligent poster clearly. He wants a very specific response to his precious thread apparently.

Well the not very intelligent part you may have correct, but I'm not looking for a specific response, just one that even a dumb a#/ like me can comprehend.

Most responses on here are written in a persuasive mode. Just a little bit of analysis instead of just conclusory one liners would be nice.

I'll read a morons post when there is some analysis regardless what I think about the subject matter.

A moron's post with no analysis isn't worth much of a response.

This hurts me to say, but with another year under his belt, against a defense coached by Eliot, Jackson may put up a 300 passing, 300 rushing game on us next season.

How the heck did UL ever manage to lose 5 games and almost 7 this year with Bobby Petrino as the coach? They should only have lost to FSU and Clemson.......

I don't know if you are serious or not with this question. However, if so, my answer is the Cards played QB roulette the first half of the season and, regardless of Jackson's exploits, simply could not get a TB running game going throughout most of the year. As for opponents, Houston ended up being a darn good team and, in retrospect, the Cards "should have" beaten AU. The Pitt loss was puzzling and featured a total defensive meltdown in the 2nd quarter. JMO.

Peace

How tf should the cards have beaten Auburn? Does that mean the Cats should've beaten Auburn, UL, Florida, Vandy? WTF - LOL

The turds beat an AM team that did not want to be there. They only had about 1,000 AM fans make the tip because this stupid bowl ans competition was below a good program. If they would have played a better team they would have won.

Jeez, tough room. Just making a point, man. Calm your tits. If they had any semblance of an offense, they'd be a decent team. Their defense is still really good, regardless of their record.

Well, not giving up an 80+ yard fumble return TD in a 7 point loss is one reason. Starting Bonnafon at QB might be another. But more to the point AU simply was not anywhere near as good as expected but good enough to win that day. And, yes, UK let one get away here as well. It happens. The context of my comment was IRT the question "how did UofL lose 5 games this year"; not a debate about "how good" was UofL.

Peace
