Richard Sherman will never play in the NFL again, so the entire premise of this article is way off base.

(despite the fact that he makes some great points)

Why do you think Sherman won't play again? How many chances did Greg Hardy get.

I don't know if I'd go so far to say that he's finished but his prospects sure don't look great. Sherman's been a free agent for nearly six months, he's 33, and three of his last four seasons (including 2020, in which he played a grand total of five games/322 snaps due to injuries) were busts. I won't be surprised if he's done, but somebody desperate might sign him for cheap (Las Vegas or Cincy maybe) just to sell some extra jerseys.

I still can't believe society shifted so far that Whitlock is now considered conservative

Whitlock is and always has been a contrarian. Hot takes are his specialty. He likely noticed the polarization of the politicization of sports and he writes opinion columns slanted for the side who’s upset about it.

I’m willing to bet if a pro sports league had a right-leaning ideology, he’d write pieces with a leftward slant. Rage clicks mean more web traffic.

Maybe but I disagree. His early career he wrote about equality and race in an uncomfortable way at the time. While it got him on the radar, it also keeps him from really shooting up the ladder in the early days of sports personalities.

He's still talking about race and equality and has the same positions he had way back then. Except now when he casts that stone, a completely different dog yelps

By the way, the fights in the stands when people start protesting the black national anthem are going to be epic.
That's the problem. Calling it the "Black National Anthem" is antagonistic in and of itself. There's going to be people who won't stand, it will cause fights and arguments, and tear more people apart. Plus, what does that make the regular National Anthem? The White national anthem? This is crazy.

I’ve always thought he was an outstanding writer who’s also full of **** in the name of contrarianism.

He’s also got a some Tipton in him. When Whitlock was a KC beat writer, nothing pissed him off more than the Chiefs doing well.
His current outlet fits him like a glove and he’ll fit in well with his newest audience.

The premise of his article is absurd. Let’s take Richard Sherman acting like an idiot and a judge saying something stupid and pile on some race baiting (black national anthem) and get some clicks.

here’s an idea. Do like the rest of the world and don’t play the national anthem except when your national teams play. I think we discount it by playing it before sports games.

I won't watch if they keep separating us, turn the sun of a ***** on 30 minutes after kickoff everytime. I'm not to old to take up golf on Sundays or just get **** faced on Saturday nights and sleep or work Sundays away. NFL is asking for a blackeye, and when is the first Mexican or Chinese player gonna say wtf here we are.

They’ll be canceled, cut from the team,
colluded against, threatened, verbally assaulted, boycotted, suspended, etc by the folks who disagree with them.

Same as in previous years.
No, not the same as previous years. There were far more who kneeled that were not even treated close to that. Kaepernick sealed his own fate. He was and is an idiot. Many of the others still play. They may of had some verbally abusive words thrown at them but, they get that from opposing fans and their own fans depending on performance.

Nothing to unify a country like having 2 national anthems.
Yeah, too many institutions are trying to divide the country. Can’t understand why there aren’t enough adults at the table to find a way to unite everyone and yet address grievances. There are some things we can do better.
This stuff just started like 5 years ago. Cut it out, already.
