That's good stuff. They certainly say all the right things and seem like they want to win games and not just collect NIL. That's getting harder and harder to find. Hope his recovery goes as planned and he gets to ball out for us this season.
Acaden Lewis and his dad sounded like that too. I do think JQ did want to be here though not saying they are the same. Just that you are correct, you don’t know these days.

Yeah. Could be that Acaden wasn't just about NIL either, but legit just wanted more playing time. I get it but at the same time I want players here that want to put in the work to earn it and believe that they can. If you're afraid of competition then that's not a trait we need.

The dad seems cool. Where did the narrative that he was a problem come from? Never saw much to substantiate it besides the recruitment process once they separated from UK.
I think it just came from the bidding war between UL, ASU, and a few others after he decommitted. That’s pretty common nowadays though.

Lewis dad tweeted insinuating UK moved them on or played a big role on his son decommitting. Did you see that one?

Here’s the tweet I assume you’re talking about.

“Man, I fully respect your opinion but what’s EVERYTHING wrong w/ your perspective and what you’ve just put out on Twitter is that you assign 100% of the decommittment to the player and you haven’t factored in the role of the university. What you THINK you know. You Don’t.”

We can all, at times with the right kids, be one of the best recruiters in the country.

BBN really is different.

Super encouraging comments. Makes you want to root for JQ and his whole family to be successful here and have a great experience. That’s what it’s all about and when you do that at BBN it doesn’t get any better for a a college experience

Because of what's happened with the previous coach, I'll believe it when I see it.

Just sounds like he's mad that Acaden was recruited over (or at least parallel pieces were being added).

Sounded like once they put their name in the transfer portal they needed to make a quick decision since the ACL treatment had to continue. The fact that Pope played as big in nba was good selling point and having Brandon Wells on the staff with a recovery plan helped pursuing a quick decision.
It’s important to have competent staff around you.

Do we know who is on the current staff in charge with skills development for bigs and who is for guards?

One thing that is not discussed enough is Pope experience in nba. When you train with your pros everyday, when your coach is Larry Bird you learn a thing or two that you can share with a college player that aspires to become a pro one day.

Think Lewis wanted a clear to path to be the main PG in year 2 and with lowe having 2 years I guess he felt like that wasn’t there anymore

I seen that and people asked him to elaborate but he wouldn’t at least the other day.

His dad played ball. He also has stayed in his son’s life. He has good words and I appreciate his comments.
He talks a good game but I think with the charges brought against him it shows why he’s so good at it. He plays people IMO.

CBS Sports article saying that JQ WILL be UK's best defensive player since Anthony Davis. And if he develops a good outside shot he could be the #1 pick in the draft. Is this true?

@Fox2monk - I think the comment you replied to was about JQ's dad playing college ball, not Lewis.

Otherwise, if you are talking about Lewis's father, knowing the kind of charges being brought against him, I agree that I wouldn't really trust much of anything he says.
