From Penn State Football Communications: Nick Singleton 2,221 yards and Kaytron Allen 2,058 yards are the second set of Penn State teammates to have 2,000 career rushing yards joining Lydell Mitchell 2,934 yards (1969-1971) and Franco Harris 2,002 yards (1969-1971). legendary-penn-state-football-coach-joe-paterno-left-surprises-nfl-hall-of-fame-football-playe...jpgnicholas and kaytron.jpg

That is pretty rarified air. Hopefully, both Singleton and Allen will be able to make significant impact on society long after their college and professional playing days are over. Just as Franco and Lydell have.

Still time to get to 3,000/3,000 🤔
Or close, health willing. That would be quite a feat with just 8 games remaining, so hopefully there are at least 1 or 2 beyond that for them to amass yardage.
Lydell is in the College Football HoF. Nick and Kaytron are on the right path there.

Regardless of the total yards, I hope their 2024 seasons are so good they have no choice except to go on to the NFL draft in the spring. And then, how great would it be for them to have NFL careers that compare in some ways to what Franco and Lydell had. Franco a HoF NFLer, Lydell an outstanding, long-career NFLer. Great players, outstanding people.

We PSU fans have had a great, great run of being witness to outstanding running backs over the decades. These guys have kept it going.

I saw Singleton was ranked the #10 RB who would be selected late second or early 3rd round. Allen is projected late rounds or UDFA.

Allen would be a steal in late rounds, especially an UDFA.

One of the qualifications for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame is to be named an All-American. With Singleton and Allen splitting carries, it's unlikely either will get that recognition. That's why Lenny Moore, as great as he was, was never an All-American, and not in the College Football Hall of Fame.
