He plays and we get our 10th win. That is historic around here. It would have meant so much for recruiting. I get it. It is only one loss, but double digit wins is rare. Still proud of his work ethic and that he loves his university.

I wonder if they were stunned with his quitting on his college team?

Will never forget how he let the team, the coaches and the fans down. Sorry I’m not the forgiving kind for something that egregious. Could have made the difference in 10-3 or 9-4 and having lost to the ultimate jerk Bielema. Sure he tried to apologize after he was slammed by pretty much everyone. Just don’t introduce him at halftime anytime soon if he makes it in the pros.

I don't recall a true apology. He said it was a miscommunication. In the end, I don't care how it is he ended up quitting at halftime. He quit. Nothing he can say atones for that. As noted above, he played a role in taking a historic season away from us.

I pray that your kids never do anything in which you don't approve. You would write them off.

Nick is a professional athlete who quit the job he was being paid to do in the middle of a game. That is a lot different than a parent's take on a child's behavior.

I am not not referring to his kids doing something at a young age. I'm talking 18+. I assume they will still be his kids when they turn 18? You know, doing something stupid in college as most kids do.

If you want to hold college football players to a higher standard than your own kids, that's fine but please understand the hypocrisy.

Nick will always be a gamecock to me just as my child will always be my child. He is dead to you but I choose not to live in anger and hate.

It doesn't matter. We will have a program next season and Nick will be a professional player that I will keep an eye on like every other professional player. I just don't get people getting all emotional over a decision none of us have control over. I was irritated about it for about two hours while the game was being played. After that, what's the point?

I see both sides. But they're literally getting paid to play now. I assume he had a NIL deal. Anyway, I hope he does well and has a good long career.

Nick messed up. When the 2nd half started my son and my son-in-law said, "Nicks not in" We were confused why he wasn't on the field. We had talked to him at the hotel the night before the game and took some pictures with him and some of the other players. He has always been very gracious and engaging when I've talked with him.

He met with Shane a few days after they got back. Shane said everything was talked through and all sins are forgiven. He is welcome back any time. His name will be on our All-American wall at the Operations Center. If Shane's OK with it, I'm OK with it.

I don`t think Shane had any option other than to say the politically "right" thing. I doubt he really feels that way but any coach would have to say something similar.

What else is Shane going to say?
