Absolutely shocked the American got 4 bids considering the conference preferences.

Yeah the Fox tournament got the teams who would have normally been in the NIT. Pays a lot more apparently.

NIT is now a third tier tournament behind the NCAA and CBC.
Now that’s a tournament I’ve never heard of. I looked it up and that’s where Tulane went, they also had 6 or 7 teams who were invited but turned them down. I was surprised to see them going up against the final four with their semis on the same day but the finals on Sunday instead of Monday.

Tulane was upset to be left out of the NIT from the linked article.

What a mess college athletics has become.
