While many here in Hawaii were surprised that the game was still on as of yesterday, it was even more surprising to learn the game got cancelled less than 24 hours before it was scheduled to start.

At least the visitors got to make it to the Islands in time to enjoy what has been good weather here this week.

Give credit to Hawaii's admission that the COVID issues were only a factor with their acknowledgement that the transfers had a big impact. (UH's starting quarterback entered the transfer portal just before the school learned they would be invited to a bowl game and thus became ineligible to play.). The official excuse was that with the combination of injured players, transferred players, and quarantined players they felt they did not have a large enough remaining roster to be competitive.

Ah well, I guess that means more pool time.
