No idea how this guy didn't get killed. Chases grizzly from under his porch.

The bear is jaw popping at the beginning which is a clear sign it is about to charge. At any moment if it does charge this guy is dead. He even follows it when at any time it could have turned around on him. I hope he had somebody with a bazooka standing behind him the whole time.

Just walking by a bear den can get you killed. This dude was extremely lucky.

If that bear charges him then even with a high powered rifle handy he'd be very lucky to not get killed. He has nowhere to go to put anything in between him and that bear that would stop it. Just insanely dangerous thing to do and he got very lucky he didn't get Treadwelled.

For all you novice hikers out there, when a bear pops its jaw like it is chewing bubble gum, then that means it is about to kill you.

Bears are effing scary. Hiking in the Tetons a few years back and saw some bear cubs right on the trail. Immediately turned around because we assumed the momma was close by (but not behind us since we obviously just came from that direction and didn't see one.

Get about a mile down the trail and run right in to the mother. So we had to keep slowly retreating as this bear comes marching at us right on the trail, but if we back up too far then we are right by the cubs... Luckily the bear decided to get off the path and snoop around the woods long enough for us to get by.

Long story short, this guy is an idiot of the highest order

Grizzlies have razor sharp teeth and claws but look out for those roundhouses...

Was in Alaska this summer and stayed in a cabin rented out by a former Denali park Ranger, who also runs sled dog tours during the Winter. I asked him about the scariest situation he ever encountered. Said he was on a 7 day solo trek mapping out a new area of a National park, (no dogs), and walked right into "the largest brown bear I'd ever seen." About 5 feet away, fired a warning shot and the bear didn't flinch.

At that point he said he aimed the high caliber pistol at the bear's head and simply stared each other down. The bear finally walked off. I figured he could have simply shot him if he had to and his comment was, "wouldn't have done any good, would have only pissed him off. The chances of hitting anything that would have killed him were very small."

If you want to see what someone looks like after a grizzly attack, google timothy treadwell. This guy was supposed to be a nature expert but ended up on the gentle Ben's menu.

didn't find any "after" pics that I'm aware of, or maybe I'm just not doing it right. Did find a pic of a guy that was apparently mauled by a bear and dude's laying on his back with his pants down around his ankles and all his inner thighs and pecker had been chewed off. No telling what he was trying to do to that bear.

If you found a picture of a man's leg completely eaten down to bone but with a shoe still attached, then that was him.

This answers the question "Does a bear **** in the woods?".-No, not always.
I grew up in the mountains of VA where there are a bunch of bears(not grizzlys but black bears). Big nuisance really, much like a 300lb raccoon. Tear your trashcans up, crap all over your deck, destroy bird feeders. My family hunt them with dogs. Bear meat is very much like roast beef when cooked correctly.

"TMJ" is understood as temporomandibular joint syndrome. Not everybody has the syndrome but the joint yes. Can be very painful, can flare up when you eat chewy food.

In the documentary on that guy the helicopter pilot who "figures the Bears didn't mess with him cause they thought he was a retard or something" follows up by noting that they "got two glad bags of humans out of that bear"
