I don’t think I realized how much hope I invested in Bam for the future of Chris Collins at NU. When will NU realistically be any good again? Man I just don’t see it on the horizon. I gave up on wishful thinking after a decade-plus of Carmody.

If Nance makes a huge leap — and I’m talking All Big Ten Team — then NU has a shot. Otherwise? See where the chips end up falling in the 2020 class without Bam and try to build up the pipeline via transfers.

NU had three players who at the end of the year were legit Big players: Turner, Gaines and Kopp (avg. 9.5 ppg over last 5 games).

NU has one player who has shown he has potential to be a Big player: Nance

Other than that, NU has no one eligible for this year who has shown they are a Big player.

Its going to take more than Nance being good ...

What’s your prediction for B1G wins this season, Max?

Beran, Jones, and Buie need to be good. Without any meaningful contribution from these frosh, we won't win many games.

Kopp - had to continue his progress, maybe be The Man this year.

Gaines - hopefully the injury won't mess up his season.

Turner - needs to be more consistent, showed flashes last year.

Nance - needs a big improvement, but can be a stud.

Young and Greer - fill their roles.
