The whole situation stinks up the place. At first blush it appears Joe was 'misinformed' by someone with the No Fun League. He has made his bed and now must live with whatever he can get on the open market. One more year of nothing but squeaky clean living in Norman and finishing his education would always get one more than this.
Some team will take him but he probably will have to take less than he expects to get. I do think he would have been better off if he had returned for another year. The video coming out within a couple of months of the NFL revaluation process may very well turn out to be a killer.....moneywise. 12 months from now and with another great year on and off the field, and this wouldn't be such a big deal.
I hope he stays out of trouble, if he doesn't, he is a fool. I think he should have stayed one more year.
