........just knocked off Cummings 36-33. Mustangs scored the game-winning TD via an eight minute drive. They left Cummings 50 seconds to work with. With this win, North forces a three-way tie for first between them, Cummings, and SE Alamance. Congrats to the Mustangs.

Watched it on the web. NM went to a spread offense in the final drive and connected on a fourth and long before the winning score . Second year in a row the Mustangs have upset conference favorite 2A Cummings and their NC State signee Jonathan Paylor, a 4-star running back with lightning speed and moves. Now that loss to Southeast Alamance way back in the season looks even weirder. N. Moore moves to 7-2 on the year. Didn't get out to see them this year. Too busy watching other schools out west.
Great job Mustangs. I remember when NM was struggling mightily ten-plus years or so ago. Always fun to see a program get turned around and the community get behind it.
