Everyone viewed this game as the return of the prodigal son, Scottie Lindsey. But no one told Rutgers. Northwestern has just a 39-36 lead at half. The Knights are the worst shooting team in the Big Ten, but they're getting good shots vs. NU -- and they are falling. Rutgers is shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3.

NU missed its first 7 3s but then hit 4 of the next 5. Pardon and Taphorn are leading the way with 8 points each, while Law has 7.

What a meltdown have we scored this half yet? Definitely more turnovers than points at the under 12 timeout

Get Greenberg off the air. We're playing a crap game and Greenberg is going on and on about how things are great this year, pissing off the basketball gods.

Again, NU fans counting their chickens when we could easily wind up in the NIT.

It's been more than SIX minutes since NU made a field goal. Rutgers is on a 9-1 run. This offense with Lindsey looks a lot like the offense without Lindsey.

Defense, rebounds, turnovers....

Figure those out and the game is ours. Can't believe how well they are shooting against us and getting so many offensive rebounds. Killing me.

I know there are 11 minutes left, but man, I felt like we "had to have a comeback in us" against Illinois, too.

This would likely boot us from the tourney, and subject us to days of "flush it" posts.

Dribbling Around the perimeter doesn't work in a zone. Moving the ball and/or driving to the bucket (and drawing doubles) does.

As much as I have questioned some of browns shots in the past, we badly need someone to want the ball and want to score right now

Offensive rebounds and second chance points by Rutgers are killing us. Like we're back in the Carmody days.

That Gettys is huge and that was a bad call. Pretty agile for a seven footer....who doesn't look at all agile

Right. What have they shot against us? They've either hit the first shot or gotten the offensive rebound on 90% of the trips down the court in the game.

Still our game to win if we play d for one series and get a rebound. Probably better to foul if they get a rebound low.
