It seems obvious, but it's never really happened. NU beat a first division conference foe tonight because Mac was better than the guy he was matched up against, and because Falzon was better than his matchup, and because Lumpkin was better than his matchup.

Or, maybe, just because McIntosh was significantly better than his matchup.

NU won because NU is better. Not because NU *played* better, but because NU *is* better.

This is remarkable.
