Considering OU retooled it's offense by hiring a new OC that Norvell had zero experience working with, I wouldn't put much stock in the claim that Norvell would know OU's gameplan to tip it off to the Texas defense.

yeah...I doubt that had anything to do with Jay being at Texas...maybe a few plays, but not the overall game plan that is for sure. It was just a bad game plan/execution....special teams and all.

It worked in the NFL, I would imagine being at OU a lot was picked up by Norvell.

I would tend to believe that Norvell could tell how the Sooners D was leaning and positioning...he also spotted a weakness when he dialed up the long run play. Just wished we had faced the listless Shorthorns that laid an egg in Ames instead of the overachieving one we faced in Dallas that fateful day...
