Not a Bengals fan, but I've seen this show before...

As a die hard Bengals fan...trust me. That was a Bengals way to lose.

Tough break for a guy who played a good game. One of the many differences between being a UK fan and a Bronco fan is that as the latter we always believe, as long as it's possible, Denver will find a way to win. That's only the last of many moments like that I've seen the Bronco's have. Luck? Sure. Yet isn't it funny how it happens more often for good teams.

Unfortunately the Bengals will never win a truly meaningful game with Marvin Lewis as head coach. He is a very good coach but his teams will never be mentally tough enough to win big games under him. Look at his/their history. Wish that were not the case for him but my 30 year coaching career and lifetime involvement in football tells me other wise.

Lewis is the Tubby Smith of the NFL. Except, Tubby actually has won meaningful games. Lewis will never do that. Ever. Bright spot is that McCarron is already a better QB than Dalton. Unfortunately, he plays for Lewis who will be dumb enough to put Dalton back in.

Denver up 20-17 in OT. Bengals had 2nd and 10 from their 30 or so. McCarron in the shotgun. Not paying attention and botched the snap..Denver recovers. That's just the short of it.

Plus, didn't they jump out to a 14-0 lead------shades of the UL game.

Bungles blew a first round bye with that loss, didn't they?

Probably. They need Denver to lose next week to obtain a bye.

The AFC is a joke anyways. It will be another cheaters cakewalk to the Super Bowl this year. They will be praised again for b eating up on a bunch of backup QBs. Let's just hope the NFC champ does not forget common sense this year if they have the ball at the 1 yard line with a good RB.

As a bengals fan I really wanted to win that game. But, I won't be too hard on them. They have a lot of injuries and were playing a team desperate for a win on a bitterly cold night. You could tell the defense was gassed at the end.

The Bengals had the game in hand until the missed field goal in the first half. From that point on, the Broncos had life and came on to tie the game. It looked like the Bengals tired out in the high altitude in the second half. Even so, the Broncos missed two opportunities to win the game in regulation by fumbling and missing a makeable field goal late in the fourth Qtr.

The two teams never break out their misery

Uh, I beg to differ. The Bronco's have something the Bengals don't. Two Super Bowl titles. Sure, we've got those horrible losses against Washington, San Francisco, and Seattle, but we got two wins to! And at least we made it there. Pretty sure the Bengals, my 2nd fav NFL team, albeit a distant 2nd, can claim only one appearance, and a heartbreaking loss. That we share. That's as far as any misery comparison goes! Don't mess with my Donkeys! They are a decidedly not so distant 2nd to UK basketball in this fan's heart. It is after all my home, adopted or not.

Lastly I'll add what I implied in my first post in this thread. McCarron way outplayed Brock. With his injured left shoulder, and elbow the possibility for a Manning return in the play-off's still looms. Who knows, maybe this time he'll lead us to the promised land, and then retire. Hey, I can dream!

Damn!

I am a closet Bengals fan

I lived up there when Kenny Anderson was QB and later when Boomer was at the helm

I even went to the "Ice Bowl" where Cincy beat Folts and San Diego in minus 20 degrees...LOL...so cold all the women hid out in the restrooms where there were heaters

I wish the Bungles the best, but they are truly named appropriately
