I used to breeze by rr every few days to catch up on the goings on with our cats, and in doing the same here it appears there just isn't nearly as much to read about. Its much slower with less users contributing content. Any suggestions? Must I buck up an spend a little to get the same info and entertainment

I'm sure things will pick up, at least some, when the season starts. This is a pretty dead time every year, and a lot of people probably didn't make the migration when the change happened in the offseason. Some people will come looking for where to talk UK once the games start. Many, though, are probably gone forever. The rivals site may have had a well deserved bad reputation, but it was a HUGE gathering spot for fans. Yet to be seen if this will replicate that. There's just been some splintering. Some people went Discord. Some went to WCN. Some, like me, using more than one.

It took several tries, but I was able to change my username in the settings. I didn't do anything differently, I just kept trying and eventually it worked. Click your profile pic up in top right, go to Settings - Profile, and Username is a field there. I changed it and saved. First 3 or 4 times I did this, it would save as changed in the settings, but name stayed the same when I posted. And it would be greyed out for a week or two, then be back to the old name. But one time, it stuck. Don't have my 20-year, 15,000 message history attached to it, unfortunately.

It’s just a slow time of the year with no events taking place, I’m sure things will start picking up in the next few weeks with College Football. September/October, I would imagine there would be more traffic. I can’t wait for Football/Basketball, I’m getting Netflixed out and not a lot of good series right now lol

I have not seen a post on the Nike contract I was always amazed about the attention that many paid about fonts, checkerboards, the wildcat on shirts, etc. I never understood the love or hatred of such But no one on the free board has even mentioned the contract

Yeah it's presently even slower than this place. I'm expecting both to pick up when the season starts. Probably doesn't help that this has been the quietest football offseason I can remember, coming off a horribly disappointing season. If people were coming to the site for football talk, some would engage over on the basketball side too.

The community fractured pretty hard when the old site went out. Some went to discord, some to WCN, some here, and some just said screw it. The Lair is damn near dead. I don't know if it will pick up when the season kicks off or not.

I may not be exact with the numbers but you will get the point. The old contract with Nike provided UK between 1 an2 million, in addition to supplying the teams. The new contract is up to seven million but total is not known because it includes a percentage of sales. Appears to be a much better contract until you hear Adidas is paying Louisville 16 million per year.

I honestly feel like this site is fine and I really dont get all of the moaning and groaning. Theres some things that dont work as well and I know theres some account issues which I get.. but its largely the exact same as it was before, and some things are actually better, like being able to share photos directly from your phone storage, which is actually a huge deal because traditionally, sharing photos on your smartphone never worked well (at least not for me).

One thing I think we should do is compile a list of things we'd want to see if the mods can look at. One example being, on a smartphone, the bottom advertisement covers the ability to insert the quoted message, and I have to tilt my phone into landscape to get around it.

I think the biggest issue is just the off-season. I probably posted a few thousand times during the season and maybe posted 10 times, if that, so far this off-season. I think once November rolls around, things will be back to normal…at least for me. My several thousand posts are a-coming.

I'm in the same boat. I've been Blueisbest for 20 years and had more than 23,000 posts. I had to start all over with a new name.

It’s greed, the dude who owns it created the same site 4 times now. There was no reason to touch RR as it was. If he wanted to buy it again fine, but to merge it all over was dumb.
