It’s worse where we live in Sarasota County. All of the west coastal area between St. Pete and Ft. Meyers is in an extreme drought. We are over 30 inches behind on rainfall for the last year. Naples has had more rain than us.

Yikes. 30 inches? That’s crazy.

24 inches of rain in less than a 24 hour period contributed mightly to this stat. This small intense cell never moved until it rained itself out. Was crazy driving by FLL the next day and the entire airport including runways and taxiways under 2-3 ft of water
Yeah, that definitely skewed the numbers.
A friend of mine from up here in the Space Coast had the misfortune of being on vacation down there that day.
So much stuff was flooded out that he managed to convince the resort to give him a full refund.
