NU Hoops likely wouldn’t bring Patrick Baldwin on board next year!

This team has good chemistry and worked through alot of issues. No need to bring a one and done who is a bit undersized. I think Nance would " school " Baldwin right now. We bring everyone back! Don't change a thing! We earned it!

If Nance would school him, he would not be a one and done.

That's a joke, right? Baldwin would not only start for NU but would likely be their leading scorer. The opening on the roster would happen when one of the current guys leaves. Gaines? Try your comedy somewhere else, please.

Likely not from the beginning. He is not a guard so a couple positions he would not fill. Nance has his role and is unlikely to be displaced as a SR as does Young who. So you have a third year Beran and a Sr Kopp and Gaines. He would get minutes for sure but not on an upper class laden team.... Just saying his role as a starter and leading scorer might be as a Soph after he adds strength etc. I see him more as a two year guy with him being dominant as a Soph

PBJ would not pass admissions. They only put their stamp of approval on recruits who are likely to graduate.

Sorry I'll just have to totally disagree. He starts at either the 2. 3 or 4!

Not true.

Really? I thought we were so holy that it was our guiding principle. You are likely to not graduate, you are out of our so called liberal school. Consistent, fair, blah blah blah.

Oh wait, our admissions process is BS and we are fine with a guy coming into campus for a year and leaving without graduating. But we are not fine on letting some south side kid have a better shot at upward mobility.

Normally at 3 or 4, yes. 2, no way. But we will have a much more experienced team at all those positions next year with guys having 2 or three years of starting experience at each position so in this case, I don't think so. THe following year definitely as Nance will be gone, Kopp maybe. But this, his first year, I would not be so sure

We've never had a player like this. Unless the injury has significantly affected him or the analysts are completely wrong (and they usually aren't about consensus top 5 players), he would be the best player on the team by a large, large margin. Basketball is not like football. Generally, the great players are good right away and decent players never become great. I am sure he would have bad games and may get pushed around a little on defense but he's as tall as Nance and has been compared to Klay Thompson as a shooter. And he handles the ball well.

Wellllll... you say that. But it’s NU, the place several here have defended is too good for a coach like Moser. So there’s that

Absolutely disagree. First, he wouldn’t come without either guaranteed starter spot or at open comp to earn one.

But I think starts over every single guy on the team. I don’t think he comes but if so I would like to see Gs two of Boo, Berry, Audidge, SF Baldwin, PF Nance and young.

Kopp moved into that 3 & D role. If Beran and or Nich crack major minutes, it’s because they deserve it. That’s an eight man rotation.

Rest only see the floor of injury.

If Baldwin came, I doubt anyone would leave because of the excitement. Realistically, I bet we see several departures and I would wager we don’t have a full set of scholarship players again next year. I would set the over under of scholarship players at 11.5.

He would be after a bit but initially he has a lot to learn. We just have a lot of experience at the positions going into next year so it is not as clear cut. Most years it would be but not this upcoming year. Again, I do not see how he would be a 2. And even if he was you have Buie, Audidge, Berry and even Gaines. Need the second ball handler. At the 3/4 you have Nance, Kopp, Beran and Gaines. Nance not going anywhere and with Young and Nicols, 5 spot likely held down. So that leaves Beran and Kopp ahead with the other spot with significant experience. Again, he will be good but it is not our normal situation where he would be able to just step in. Not like a point (which we are still struggling with or a dominant center like guy in Mich. I see him working in and maybe starting by the end of the year

Are you high?

Go look at the top 5 prospects out of HS for the past years. All started at blue bloods or power conference teams. But this dude does not start at NU?

He would be your best player the moment he stepped on campus. Come on, man.

I’m hoping that one of our new frosh will start ahead of Kopp and Berran even if we don’t land Baldwin.

Maybe this run can convince PBJ to take us over the hump with his commitment. I like Gaines but PBJ would instantly be the best player on the team
