That was a pretty impressive opening and closing of the half for NU. They started with an 11-0 run and closed with a 9-0 run. And that finish came with Law on the bench.

Tempo is key for NU. If they make Texas play half-court ball, they'll be in good shape. If Law stays out of foul trouble and plays his usual offensive game, the Cats can win this thing.

The Cats are playing solid defense, though Law just picked up his third foul. Amazing to think that little ol' Northwestern can outrebound the big and talented Longhorns like this.

As announcers pointed out, we clearly scouted Texas well - they REALLY want the baseline, we've been very good denying it, and they've largely been reduced to individual play in the half court.

44-29 cats 15:20 left. Benson in the game. Need his body and fouls. Not game with only 4 by their best player Vic Law.

So Law picks up his third foul and sits down and the Cats go on an 8-1 run. Incredible.

UT's going to keep feeding it to Allen in the low post. The Cats have to find a way to slow him down.

The sudden foul trouble with Law and Skelly has me a bit worried. But how about NU breaking the press tonight? Maybe the best I've seen over a full game. I like the BMac-Brown backcourt right now, too.

That kid is a beast. He was a five-star kid, No. 15 recruit in the nation last year.

Yes, very nice to have two very good ball handlers out there to break the press.

Yes, the backup point guard Brown can handle it. NU up 18 points and Vic Law on the bench with 4 points and 4 fouls.

Gotta love that smirk on Brown's face when he knows that CC is gonna chew his arse...

Makes frosh mistakes, but has all the signs of a baller.

Was getting worried that the 'Cats would start not having enough bodies up front (which is where not having Falzon hurts), but gotta not make the stupid foul.

Air ball on a three by Law. Pardon with the offensive rebound and dunk. Not seen often at NU. Collins might have something cooking.

I like Brown's confidence (and talent). Good to have that swagger.

No Law (only 6 pts.) and Falzon and NU up by 13 pts with 2 mins. left. Brown with the dagger! 1:52 left.

Brown does a much better job already running the offense. He can give us 5 to 6 good minutes with Mac on the bench and then many more minutes next to Mac. What a great get by CC.
