I just watched the Michigan game from the NCAA year again. Cheered me up a little bit. Lots of good players on both sides. I am guessing most folks would not have picked Duncan Robinson as the player who would have the best NBA career (or even any NBA career). He had a couple of 3's in the first half but didn't do much in the 2nd half. Mo Wagner is also getting rotation minutes in the NBA and DJ Wilson is on the Bucks but doesn't play a lot (I think they may have someone better than him at that position). When you add Derick Walton, Jr., Zak Irvin and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman to a team with 3 NBA players, that was a great win against a really good college team that was playing great basketball at the time (went on to win the conference tournament and got to the Sweet 16). I think Collins is a much better x's and o's coach than most on this board (other than the last 5 minutes of games when we have leads). I question his ability to identify and develop lesser talent but I am fairly optimistic that he has the foundation for a good team that can make a run. Let's hope they get the chance.

It was fun to re-watch that game yesterday. On the NU side, just about everyone on the roster contributed. Ash and Benson played as freshmen. Benson had a strong first half with a couple big shot blocks. Law was the MVP.

If you listened closely, you could hear the screamer. She's not so bad when she's drowned out by a few thousand other students.

NU has been bad ever since they silenced the Screamer. Coincidence? I think not.

The Cubs had the Billy goat; NU hoops has the Screamer.

Benson had a really nice game after Pardon got in foul trouble. If you just watched that game, you would have expected him to have developed into an effective B1G starter.
