Someone is doing a ****** makeup job on these halftime commentators. One has jaundice yellow cheeks, the other is orange.

It’s obvious this team / coach doesn’t practice and prioritize tackling near enough for major college / big 10 standards.
How will Butler adjust? Nico has 75 yards rushing. Thankfully their passing game is MIA

Oh!? So do they get extra points for that or did we still hold them to 7?
I’ll try to explain this in a way that you can understand. A crap team is moving the ball freely against us. A better team will do the same and get the points. We need to stop them on third down and get to the quarterback once in a while.

They're really not doing much other than qb scrambles. Our DL has been in their backfield a bunch. QB is a really good runner.

That is the game plan...Butler doesn't care about rushing yards...analytically teams average about 2x the yards per pass than per run. Run a defense that doesn't give up big runs and stops the pass, allows for long drives and wears out the defense. Teams outside of Minnesota and Michigan have continued to throw into our coverage defense...seems UCLA has a bit more patience, but if they fall too far behind they will have to throw. It took them a quarter on one drive to score a td.

Would you say they are moving the ball as freely as we are on O?

Hindsight 20-20. I like the timeout. 3rd and 12 if you get a stop you have a chance for a nice punt return and points. Nico made some crazy plays.
We would have had zero timeouts left after the third down play with a first time starting quarterback with a minute to go. You’re not too bright.

Wonder if McCulough would have helped more on the QB scrambles?
I dunno. Overall I thought we got really good pressure on Nico when rushing 4(+). And that the majority of his escapes from a collapsing pocket had mostly to do with his talent.

I’m guessing that pressure maybe came at the price of not designating a spy on the guy? I hope someone asks Rhule about these decisions at his next presser.
