One of NU's best ever! They beat Clemson last night in the ACC/BIG challenge, without starting guard Sidney Wood. Veronica Burton lit up the Tigers with 32 points and lots of rebounds, assists, and blocks.
Yep, and she did it mostly without much help from her teammates. Sidney Wood, a four year starter was out with an injury. Burton did it by consistently driving to the basket and drawing fouls, which caused all sorts of problems for Clemson. She made 14 free throws! Clemson had no answer for her, particularly in the second half, when she scored 19 points and brought the 'Cats back from a 7 point halftime deficit. I watched the game on the ACC network. The announcers did a nice job and they had a lot of praise for NU, and Veronica in particular. That was her career high
Great player. Highly skilled. Mentally and physically strong in every phase of the game.Girl is amazing
Don't know, but my guess is she got bypassed by other players. Shaw starts at center and usually her relief is Paige Mott. We also have a 6'3" freshman who plays a lot at the wing, and we frequently start 3 guards.Another question. Why isn't Anna Morris playing? She was a highly rated recruit.
Thought she was recovering from injury.Don't know, but my guess is she got bypassed by other players. Shaw starts at center and usually her relief is Paige Mott. We also have a 6'3" freshman who plays a lot at the wing, and we frequently start 3 guards.
I'm not sure, but she didn't do much last year when she did play.Thought she was recovering from injury.
This post makes almost no sense. Morris never plays the 5 and neither did Scheid. Last year, Morris played in 20 games and averaged 1 field goal per game. She was 1 for 13 from 3. This year, she played in one game, against Pitt on November 26, and she made one field goal for 2 points. It would appear, therefore, that she hasn't done much regardless of whether she is injured. Looks like other players have bypassed her as I stated above.Morris is injured. 6' 3" Caleigh Walsh remove me off Abi Scheid. She looks to be an excellent 3 point shooter, and she's not any about taking them. I think she's got plentiful to be better in the post than Scheid. I think she usually guards their 5.
My typing is bad as well. My point, however, is neither Scheid nor Morris plays in the post and Morris has done very little to date. Hope she turns it around and becomes a contributor.Sorry, my typing was bad. My daughter teases me all the time. Walsh reminds me of Scheid, but with better potential in the post. Morris will have trouble getting in the lineup. All 3 first years who played last night looked good.
