For Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcatsfans, their game against one another is as important as any on their schedules. In the 2019 Battle of the Bluegrass, Nwora underperformed. and fans apparently let him know about it afterward.

After Louisville’s win against Miami this week, Nwora let it out about the fan’s response to his game against Kentucky.

“A lot of crazy stuff [happened following the Kentucky loss], shoot. There were some people telling me they loved me a day ago. Now they want me, shoot, dead. I don’t even know. I had someone message me saying they wanted to kill me over a $15 bet. I said, it’s a $15 bet? If that’s what you’re worried about, I think you’ve got more issues than worrying about me,” said Nwora.

Didn't this happen to one of the kickers in the Michigan-Ohio State football game a few years ago? The darker side of sports is a bottomless pit.

You will see more of this now that college sports are open to legal gambling. I’m not saying that all will do it, but you know there are those few knuckleheads out there that will bet their financial future on the performance of an 18-19 year old kid.

Also, I wonder if this Ky “writer” was just as outraged at the many Grover fans that threatened the life and business of the referee a few years ago....probably not. Typical Grover.

This clown should be man enough to threaten Jordan to his face. That way he can be exposed and dealt with properly. Id make sure he never threaten anyone again.

Your priorities have to be so far out of whack that it’s unfathomable, to threaten a college kid over a game (or bet). Freakin idiots.

Humans(?) behind a keyboard can be ugly. I hope the good folks on SM outweighs the bad for these young folks.

One idiot can do too much today. With social media, players now are connected with everyone in the world. They can see some unimaginable trash talk and hurtful language thrown their way.

I know there’s no going back, but Rick was right to want to avoid social media while he was coach. It’s rat poison.

Louisville basketball star Jordan Nwora joked about a threat he got on social media after last month's loss to UK.

But the school is taking it seriously.

It wasn't one of those cursory deals where we just overlooked it," head coach Chris Mack said. "The proper people and the authorities here in Louisville are doing what they're supposed to do and following up."

If I was a player in today’s world I am shutting down my social media for the season. At the least I am not looking at any of the mentions.

It doesn’t surprise me why teams come out flat or go into slumps. There is enough of fuel on social media to feel like a king or a complete failure. I think social media has a stronger voice than the coach.
