Where have you gone, Joe Nastasi?
Nittany Nation turns its lonely eyes to you
Woo, woo, woo
Too great of a moment to at least not share a vid clip. Which coach called that play? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Look at the enviable play of the OL complete with the kick-out blocks. Even @psuro could have waddled through that hole.

And let’s not forget two (2) things:

(1) the color commentary by Dick Vermeil, a closet PSU fan and

(2) Later in his career, JoePa had an idiosyncratic habit of blowing his nose following an explosive play when he knew he outsmarted an opponent. If you watch enough PSU highlights, his habit is noticeable and very much missed.

Had the opportunity to meet Nastasi a few years ago. Very nice guy. My daughter was just getting into PSU football and I told her that he made one of the most memorable plays in PSU history and she had recently watched it on youtube. Joe just laughed.

There is a Nastasi on State College FB team. Anyone know if it's Joe's son?

Should have called that vs. Bama in the blocked FG game. ‘Bama overloaded inside the hash, a fake to the right side of our formation is a walk-in TD. Easy peasy!

You mean against Bama like this?

Knizner and later said: “I would have been happy with a field goal. But I thought I’d let it all hang out.”

Hanging it all out, in Nittany-ese, means running a bootleg to the right, which Knizner did expertly before he flipped a touchdown pass to tight end Brian Siverling. That put Penn State ahead, 19-10

That “Go State beat Michigan” banner when Joe is running along the stands is a real work of art. Looks like something I would have made after dollar pitcher night at the Gaff.
