well i was wrong, this team isnt going to jell and come together and kick *** not as long as we have our present o-line i guess we can only sit back and wait for them to graduate, and then go from there.i am also disappointed at all the garbage talk from some of the posters. i know we are going thru tough times but lets take it easy on the team and frost,i'll bet he suffers more than you guys and when he loses he feels it. not like riley or bo or even clownahan why ? because he's from a small town in nebraska, like me and like you.criticize yes but personally attacking them...i dunno

Riley didn't like to help his tackles with TE's either.

The biggest mistake Frost has made so far as a head coach IMO is not going out and recruiting some immediate JUCO OL help.

And yes, I'm also really, really shocked that Coach Austin hasn't been able to do any better. Coming in, he had a good rep as an OL coach. Didn't expect the OL to be great this year but I certainly didn't expect it to be this bad either. Sad thing is they seem to be getting worse instead of better.

We have no choice but to be patient. Firing any coaches at this point would be counterproductive. Our current OL severely lacks the athleticism to get the job done. I think we some young talented guys coming up. Man I hope so. There's a ton of pressure on these coaches to recruit very athletic, tough minded kids! Can't afford swing and misses in recruiting anymore. That game last night made me physically ill.

Sometimes when they've used the TE to help Farniok, the DE has just gone inside and Farniok whiffed anyway. You can only give a bad OT so much help.

The only OL I can compare us to are Rutgers and UCLA. Perhaps the only teams I can compare us to are Rutgers and UCLA.

The lack of toughness and physicality are glaring. There are so many things to address and fix, Frost will need to be a miracle worker.

When Minnesota dominates you like they were Bama it’s hard to find any positives about where we are right now.

And I thought we made some bigger gains on both toughness and physicality.. Apparently not..

Our best OL player yesterday is the one a lot of people on here wanted to see benched for yesterday’s game. So let that sink in. A redshirt freshman converted TE, who never played center growing up looked better than 4 other guys.

On top of that we don’t have enough adequate OL on the roster to make replacements, except for Bando was inserted for Hixon.

"Sometimes" as you say. If they do that consistently , Farniok will get better at cutting off the inside guy. That may also be a way to get the ball outside with more success. Or you could wait for years of development which will continue (the waiting) forever.

True. I know a lot of people here long for the option but I miss the plain old toss sweep, which always seemed like a play that could help keep rush ends honest. Harder to run from the shotgun, but not impossible.

Amen brotha. I was wrong myself on my preseason hopes and predictions. But it doesn’t make me a bad person, some how don’t know my football, a bad fan or any of that. Like some, I just hoped we could plug a few holes we had on the Oline and move on. That clearly didn’t happen and like you pointed, we can’t and won’t do a dam thing with this horrible Oline. We will have to suffer through this, at least until Bryce Benhart, B Banks, M Anderson, Jimmy Fritzsche, Michael Lynn, E Piper, Turner Corcoran and Alex Conn come along. I really hope Turner Corcoran is ready to play ASAP when he hits campus...we may need him sooner then later.

But I refuse to give up on Scott Frost. He took over an absolute dumpster fire. Mike Riley had some huge misses and bad luck in recruiting and we also faced transfers. All this is killing us right now and making Frosts job that much harder. He will get us through this though. I have no doubt in my mind what so ever. It may take 3-4 years though. But we need to give him more then a year and a half. That’s for dam sure. GBR

I used to get a decent amount of hate for loving the toss sweep.
