Well considering I have been admitted to the same hospital 3 times since July 15 I am getting better. You would think quadruple bypass would be the thing messing with me for so long. A couple other things are what is holding me back. Had the surgery and the next morning was up and walking around. Next day my knees and feet swell up with gout. Drained them and got better to go home. 2 days later it came back. I was somewhat able to hobble around the house but pretty much bedridden while we screwed around with primary care doctor to fix it. Was going to an orthopedist on 8/1 and when I got up to go to the car and got real dizzy and sweating about half way to the car. Made it and the A/C and sitting got me better. Got to orthopedist and just got out of the car into a wheelchair and it was that times 100. It's the only time in all this that I was seriously worried about dying. Got me inside and EMS took me back to the hospital. Turns out the surgery caused an ulcer on my colon. Fixed that after while. After that there were a couple other minor things but the main problem is still the gout. They got me into a rehab center and that didn't go well. Let's just say don't send anyone you love to Landmark on Eastern Parkway, don't. Left after 17 hours. Had to have a dressing on the wound on the chest on Sunday but couldn't get in until Wednesday. They readmitted me for the 3rd time. Had another surgery to clean out the wound and then another this morning to close it because it was looking good. The good news came this afternoon when I found a good rehab center that would take me. My insurance isn't taken by many rehab centers and this one is out of network so it's only covered at 60% but at this point if it's a matter of a couple thousand dollars I can't tell you how much I don't care. Hoping to get there tomorrow or Thursday. Walking again and getting back to a normal life because the last month and a half has sucked. Thanks for asking.
I didn’t like Oasis first time around. Not sure why. I dunno. Liked other bands similar to em.
Just get better. Hopefully it turns around.
Those two will never make it through an entire tour together.
For some reason, I completely overlooked them in their heyday. I think, in retrospect, I lumped them in with Blur, Pulp, The Verve and other Britpop bands who sounded nothing like Oasis. Much of what little I heard of the other bands was electronic boy band stuff to my ears so I didn't really pay much attention to Oasis.
About 3 or 4 years ago, strolling through Spotify, several of the bands that are on my playlist showed Oasis as one of those 'if you like this band, you might like...' So, I searched and, obviously, I knew 'Wonderwall' as it was a huge hit. But, I hit play on 'Supersonic' and went, 'whoa, this is a ROCK band, not some sissified Brit pop dog crap'. Next, 'Morning Glory' and suddenly I was/am a FAN. Probably have 25+ songs on my song list (which is extensive but they're well represented). I truly like and enjoy their music. Tons of hooks, big choruses, some really good riffs and rock 'n roll attitude (especially in the earlier stuff). I'd definitely go see them if they're near me on their tour. They do NOT put on a show, that's for sure. But, the attitude and good song after good song would be enough for me to get my money's worth. It's gonna be an event in the UK and Europe. They didn't make nearly as much of a splash in the States but I'd wager they'll have some big crowds to play to in America if they choose to come here.

Liked, but not loved, them back in the day when they were hot. I was in HS at the time. Grew to appreciate their stuff more in the last five years. Would definitely hit up a concert.

They wrote/performed some really great music. I mean, it wasn't as great as they THOUGHT it was, but it was still pretty good.
Don't Look Back in Anger is a great song. Whether they make it through the tour depends on how much the younger brother has matured. He has a family now; so he's probably not partying as hard.
This is me. They were one of those huge bands that I never could get into. They’re not terrible. Just not for me.

After the Zeppelin 2007 reunion show at the O2 arena, Plant.was back stage trying to get the eff out of there and the Gallagher brothers come staggering by, saw Plant and drunkenly stumbled in and said something to the effect of "...godd***, you guys REALLY ARE THE EFFIN ****"
Plant could only shake his head, and immediately went and got a pint of vodka and sat in a park and drank it.
I believe it was halfway into that bottler when he remembered he did not need/want that circus ever again.
I am not familiar with Oasis music but considered them uninformed asshats after that

That was the song that really got me into them. MTV was playing Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova constantly and it just wasn't my thing. Especially Wonderwall. Even today, Noel says he doesn't understand how that song got so massive. Probably around 2000 or so, I screwing around on acoustic guitar with my friends and one of them played Don't Look Back in Anger. Shortly after that, I'm buying their first 3 albums - which were LOADED with great songs - and got into them pretty hardcore. I saw them in 2001 co-headlining with the Black Crowes (humorously titled "The Tour of Brotherly Love") and again a few years later at the Ryman, which at that point they were playing smaller venues and running on fumes in America. After Be Here Now, the great songs were far and few between. Noel said the pressure got to him and he couldn't keep up.
I figured they'd reunite at some point. There's just too much money to be made. It'll be massive in and around the U.K. but I'm curious how well they'd be received in America in 2025. The reunion news has gotten a lot more hype than I thought it would.
I am not an Oasis fan, as I am not familiar with most of their music, but I think Liam Gallagher was the opening act for the Who a few years back. Some kids were sitting next to me and I was impressed they were at a Who concert. They apologetically informed they were there for the opening act. If I recall, it was okay. The Who was awesome, still.
Re: Noel 'not keeping up' - I wonder how much was due to alcohol, getting a bit too comfortable, writing songs more for his voice than Liam's, trying to be 'artistic' (Be Here Now has some good songs but they're overproduced, bloated and self-indulgent) and clever versus writing a catchy chorus and melody, etc. It's interesting that several of the B-sides from the first two albums were damn good songs. Noel wrote maybe 20-25 killer tunes in the space of about 3 years. Hard to replicate that or to keep up that pace (ask John Fogerty). But, believing your own BS and taking yourself way too seriously can have seriously adverse effects on a rock 'n roll band and songwriter (See: U2). Certainly, nothing Noel has done with his High Flying Birds compare to the best of Oasis' music, imo.

I never liked Wonderwall and didn't appreciate them until I "discovered" them in the 00s.
Can definitely do without some of their songs, but the ones I like, I love, and many are all-time favorites for me. Definitely Maybe is incredible, especially for a debut album.

Be Here Now is ok. Standing on the Shoulder has some good stuff and Don't Believe the Truth is sneaky good, imo.

Also, anyone who likes them should watch their documentary movie Supersonic. I've seen it about 4 times.
Finally, on a broader note, it's amazing how dead-on Spinal Tap was in 1984, on so many bands, both before and since.

Saw one of them open for U2 in bogota. He was pretty good on his own. Oasis as a band is severely overrated and pumped by British media
I wanted to watch them when they toured with Ryan Adams about 15 years ago. Had a couple of buddies who went to that.
When I think of Oasis, I always think of this scene in Snatch.

Oasis reminds me of Paul Weller: very English, guitar driven pop stuff that has an underlying "bite" (especially lyrically) with a touch of "eff you" arrogance.
