My thoughts about game & crowd last night:

1. Crowd didn't pay $125 to watch Whistlepalooza. Refs completely sucked the air out of Garden. Ruined the amped atmosphere for all fans.
2. Met a ton of nice Kansas fans, Allen Fieldhouse is now on my bucket list.
3. After 15-6 we played very poor for 25 mins. Out of sync and knocked back.
4. IMO Kennard is our best offensive weapon.
5. Grayson's shot weren't falling & body language followed
6. Self screaming at refs "let the kids play" was best call of night
7. Amile does so many little things for the team
8. Was John Wall behind the Duke bench? Couldn't tell from my spot.
9. Jeter improved, we'll be fine when Bolden returns to split minutes
10. Jav should have played, KU ran frosh off the bench who looked lost. Jav can't spot us 6-8 mins?

Yes Wall was behind the Duke bench because it was the U.K. bench in the previous game.

Agreed about Javin. He should have played more IMO.

Agreed re: Grayson. It looked like U.K. from last season.

Don't really agree about Jav. I think K is coaching like he expects Bolden, Tatum and Giles back. Giving minutes and experience to the guys that are actually going to be in the rotation when the frosh are back. could it have helped this game? maybe, but its not like he would have been some huge spark that would've put us over the edge. He would've played hard probably gotten some silly fouls and then sat again. The guys that needed to be out there were out there. This is the 3rd game of the year. Condition wasnt a problem and K played the guys that will be contributing when the big 3 come back. JMO

Thought I would visit your board to see what the fans were saying. I agree that early in the first half the refs were calling too many ticky tack fouls on both sides which impacted the flow of the game. Duke, however, let Kansas back into the game after Kansas couldn't hit the broadside of the barn. That is where things began to go wrong along with Allen trying to do too much to seemingly try and get his stats. He was doing great as a facilitator, made some awesome passes, and should have let the game come to him. But, Duke not having 3 key players and losing by a point is actually fairly impressive although so far I haven't seen any team (Yes including Kentucky) play anything other than sloppy this early in the season. Both games looked more like AAU ball games and don't think they will resemble what play will be like later in the season.

I only disagree as to Allen getting his stats. He spent last season knowing that he was the #1 scoring option on a team with a lot of flaws. With 3 guys out, I believe he was reverting to that again. I think he tries to do to much because he's trying to win, not to fill up a stat sheet. Just my opinion though.
