It has been a terrible year, helped a little by the 2 wins in the last week. While Minnesota is a tough draw in the first round, ensuing matchups against Iowa and Illinois are, to me more favorable.

In another thread, I guessed the chance the Cats would beat the Gophers to be about 1/5. I would guess the chances in the subsequent games to be about 1/6 (Iowa) and 1/8 (Illinois). This would give the Cats about a 1/240 chance of advancing to the semifinal round.

Real life comparisons:
1) Chances are about the same as the chances your kid is/was/would be valedictorian of a pretty good suburban high school with a class size of 500 (he or she is YOUR kid and certainly has a better than average chance)
2) Chances are worse than the chance that the person to your right during your organic chemistry final (any quarter) was the valedictorian of his/her pretty good suburban high school (it was Northwestern and at least every other kid in that class seemed to be a valedictorian).
3) Chances are way better than the chance that your a**hole neighbor’s kid is/was/could be valedictorian of a pretty good suburban high school (he or she is HIS kid and must have almost no chance at all).

Winning the BTT would probably be similar in magnitude to Leicester City coming out of nowhere to win the Premier League in 2016. Not suggesting it's gonna happen, but one encouraging thing is that while the Big Ten is pretty much loaded from top to bottom, there is no single team I'd consider it physically impossible for us to beat, even if everything goes right for us. We're certainly not burdened with the weight of expectations, and given the way we closed out the season, we're probably not hurting for confidence either. If we can just figure out a way to keep Oturu from taking over the game - no small task, to be sure - I wouldn't be surprised to see us oust the Gophers. I'll be there, as I have for every BTT, and I hope we have a strong purple turnout. Indy does a great job with this tournament, and this year's version ought to produce some terrific games.

Our 2003 team won 3 conference games, with the 3rd being against Penn State at home, lost to Minnesota twice during the season, and then beat them in the first round of the B1G tournament, so basically what I'm saying is we've got this in the bag Wednesday night.

"The Northwestern Wildcats may be a team that can get through the first two rounds of the Big Ten Tournament, based on pairings. Minnesota and Indiana could be beat."

I think it would be analogous to Trump having to be strictly complimentary and solicitous to everyone for five days.

Which is like Roger Rabbit keeping quiet when someone knocks while singing, "Shave and a haircut...."

A game or two, sure. Five...."TWWWWOOOOOO BIIIIITTTTTTS"

Wrassler ranked seventh in his class at the prestigious Lake Forest Academy for a short time. Only 80-90 kids in senior class though! What are the odds.

Movies will be made out of the NU Cinderella story in the 19/20 BTT

I think that the BTT is when we discover what we truly have with the former Tewaaraton Award winner, and what grit, determination, the will to win, and relentlessness can accomplish. Like other GOAT's, including the one that wore #23, it can will a team to victory. It's show time, and the cream rises to the top.
