It has been a terrible year, helped a little by the 2 wins in the last week. While Minnesota is a tough draw in the first round, ensuing matchups against Iowa and Illinois are, to me more favorable.
In another thread, I guessed the chance the Cats would beat the Gophers to be about 1/5. I would guess the chances in the subsequent games to be about 1/6 (Iowa) and 1/8 (Illinois). This would give the Cats about a 1/240 chance of advancing to the semifinal round.
Real life comparisons:
1) Chances are about the same as the chances your kid is/was/would be valedictorian of a pretty good suburban high school with a class size of 500 (he or she is YOUR kid and certainly has a better than average chance)
2) Chances are worse than the chance that the person to your right during your organic chemistry final (any quarter) was the valedictorian of his/her pretty good suburban high school (it was Northwestern and at least every other kid in that class seemed to be a valedictorian).
3) Chances are way better than the chance that your a**hole neighbor’s kid is/was/could be valedictorian of a pretty good suburban high school (he or she is HIS kid and must have almost no chance at all).
