We had this thread a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. Let's see how it goes this time.

hof coach roy williams turned the T.V. series Walker, Texas Ranger. They wanted him to be Chuck Norris' double and do his stunts and the love scenes with Sheree' J Wilson ( Alex Cahill ). He turned it down because the love scenes might put unc cheater u in a bad light. OFC

hof coach roy williams has informed the 76er's that he will turn down their offer as head coach just in case they do fire their coach. He also turned down the Lakers job again this past week.He also had turned down the Cleveland job and highly recommended Jim Beilein for the job. Little known fact here also. He turned down the Duke job after Bill Foster left and also just recently informed that when Coach K does retire he is not to be considered for the Duke job because he will turn it down stating "there is no bigger tar heel fan than roy williams. I can't help it. It's my nature. " OFC

hof coach roy williams has turned down all the one and done recruits that went to Duke since Kyrie Irving. He stated that if they had came to cheating hill he would have won several more natty's but one and done was not the carolina way, not dean smith's way and not his way. As far as colby white and nasser little leaving he said he was deceived and it will never ever happen again. OFC

HOF coach Roy Williams was offered the lead role on Boogie Nights for obvious reasons. Yes, we now know why Roy has his "spells" on occasion. Low blood pressure and all. :)

Roy turned down Zion when he couldn't get Zion to commit for a full three years.


Zion: I want to play for your team next year, Coach Williams
Roy: Alright! You're gonna love the next 3 or 4 years in Chapel Hill!
Zion: Well, to be honest, sir, I'm not sure I'll play more than one season of college basketball.
Roy: What? Do you think you're bigger than the sport? Bigger than our program?
Zion: I didn't say that.
Roy: You know what? Go to Duke! They love renting players for a year!
Zion: Umm... okay?

Just read this about Ol Roy. He didn’t so much turn down this offer, he couldn’t get through a drug awareness commercial. Here it is:

“Parents, take TIME OUT from your day, and let your kids know the dangers of drugs. Your kids will thank you later!”

He kept freezing after only 2 words. The producers were stunned.

He finally said “Screw it” and walked off the set.

I meant this thread to be sarcastic. You know stuff made up to poke a little fun at hof coach roy williams. I wasn't asking for things that actually happened. Now you have screwed up the entire thread. Now all we are gonna get for the rest of the thread is things that he has really turned down.;) OFC

hof coach roy williams turned down the Hauser twins because one hevwould never be able to tell them apart. He already had to with deal that problem with the wear twins. It threw his coaching style into a frenzy and that was the reason for the subpar NIT season. 2nd he was afraid the Hauser's would try to play switcheroo on him by changing jersey'before games etc.etc and etc. but the main thing was they weren't carolina type players. OFC
