Observations from the tailgate:

They have on display an actual MOAB, although I would argue that TU football is the mother of all bombs.

There is an about 10 piece Army brass band playing on the stage. They may have played our fight song better than our band.

Perfect weather. Not many people here. We really do have one of the most beautiful campuses around.

Whatever TU has to do to get Paramount and Stallone to end the opening video with Sly saying " Tulsa is my town.. i run dis town aint no one takin it from me.."

I believe they build those in McAlester, and those are nasty.

Regarding the Army Brass Band playing the fight song better than the TU Band, I would certainly hope they do being that they are seasoned professional musicians.

At this point, I don't think you play the freshman because he'll just go for NIL money somewhere else. Maybe this situational switch will work...

I can't believe that worked. We telegraph every play and they couldn't stop it. Weird.

Finally drove to my club to get the game. Watched TU TD drive. Nice mix of run and pass. Can someone update the Army TD drive?

I was drum major of the band when I was there. And in the wind and jazz ensemble. Yeah, no they aren’t seasoned professionals. This was not the Army band. These guys were average at very best.

Army will shredded the Tulsa Defense all day. They only thing that will stop then is themselves.

*** edit *** I stand corrected, at least in the first quarter

I mean so far it's working so I won't knock it too much...but still skeptical this is gonna work consistently. Can legas not throw at all? Cuz he should just be the starter dual threat.

No... gimmicks are what you do when desperate. But this may be what Tulsa needs to accept in the NIL era. Near the youngest team in the nation that will be inconsistent and then when they are good enough to get paid they either bolt or realize football isn't their main goal in life and get the coveted University of Tulsa degree.

So they will bolt...
