Let's get this season started off right.

Apparently both teams (men's and women's are scrimmaging tonight. Neither team is going the full 40 minutes from what's been said. Both teams will take their allotted time but fill in with drills, skill tests, practice.

Also according to Leach there is NO radio broadcast tonight- first time in a long time.

Well, if they’re not treating it like a regular game, no need for a radio call. Disappointing, imo.

A bit. But remember, we play the number one team in a week. I'm sure it's a precaution to avoid something stupid happening.

I didn’t know this about the Blue/White game. Kind of disappointed honestly. I was excited to watch them scrimmage. Not the men during the 2nd hour scrimmaging part of the time. They’re introducing players and playing the same videos from Big Blue Madness.

Last two years man they kind of ruined this.

It used to be an event that people that maybe not able to afford tickets to a game at Rupp could go, get lower level tickets for cheap and watch a game.

Last year, they made it unrealistically expensive and this year.........they reduce the men in half.

Yeah… they’ve jumped the shark. They can do whatever they want, but this is a big downgrade.

I can get not wanting to go full out tonight for 40 minutes when you have a big exhibition next week- whether for injury prevention or not wanting too much tape out there.

But yeah....kinda disappointing.

yeah but then again we've always had two exhibition games in the past along with the blue-white and that didn't stop them from going the full 40. Granted it wasn't against the number 1 team in the nation but still a game that doesn't really count for anything lol.

But those were against D-2 and D-3 squads. I don't like it- but if that's Pope's reasoning I respect it.

Also, yeah, it doesn't count.....but....it does to BBN.

Sorry, not sorry. This is a huge bummer. This is an event basketball starved fans can’t wait for as an early appetizer for the season every year. We don’t want to watch practice drills… essentially a repeat of Bog Blue Madness. We want to see a game-like scrimmage… with the men’s team.

If they want to do a women’s blue-white game, then do that too.

But THIS is just awful.

Ok, since I’m being subjected to watching this abomination of the Blue White game, I’m compelled to point out some lunacy.

The women play against men ostensibly to provide them more challenging competition than they might ever encounter in the women’s game, thereby making the women’s team much better. So why is it obvious the men’s team they have assembled to practice against them is going super soft, half speed? That doesn’t help anyone get better.

No one will go full out tonight. It's not worth injury. No fan wants to watch a player go down for a practice.
