This team is what we know them to be......bad defense and a pretty good O as long as Gabriel plays. Sound familiar?

Just got home from the game. More relieved than happy. Question for those watching on TV. Gabriel turned the ball over three times--two fumbles and a pick. From my perspective in the stands, it looked like Gabriel threw to a spot on a crossing route but the receiver stopped running for some reason and on one of the fumbles, it looked like one of our RBs knocked the ball out of his hand? Unless somebody saw it better, I only really fault him for the initial fumble after running with the ball.

Venables is showing he's not too interested in making many changes to his D personnel. Outside of Spears Jennings at safety I didn't see any new faces. What has happened with Harrington?

Personnel changes are coming. We're only 7 games in brother. šŸ‘

Maybe not a great win, but a good win, and arguably gray's best game of his OU career.

Just feels good to get back in the win column.

I know its a win against a better Kansas team, but its still Kansas with a 2nd string QB. Lets not get too excited

The second fumble wasn't his fault. The freshman RB ran into the ball when Dillon was throwing it, knocking it out of his throwing arm before it came forward. Rookie bust.

Indeed, but we're working OUr way back up brother.
Yes the starting QB was out but he doesn't play on defense. Lebby called a much-improved game. If he would have called that type of game last week with Davis I think we at least scored.

Yes, but some folks on here seem to think that pulling Gabriel and putting in Booty or Evers will somehow inspire the defense to miraculously start playing better.
LV, you still got it wrong. It was never about inspiring the defense. Do you dream this stuff up? I'm probably wrong, my wife will tell you I am usually wrong, but I still think we are lacking at QB. In my mind, there's no fix this year, no matter who plays. Damage has already been done (TX).

BV stated ou broke several offensive records yesterday. That's gotta make tbow happy. Gabriel looked sharp yesterday, minus the 3 turnovers. 16/19 on third down, I don't care who you play that's an impressive stat. Got 2 weeks to get several players healthy, ISU has a solid defense and an NFL-caliber WR. Hopefully, the win will motivate them, and they play inspired ball from here on out. If the defense can improve each week, and the offense continues like they played today OU will get to 6 wins and a bowl game.

Gabriel is not this team's real issue as his 403-yard passing performance showed along with some good runs. That's on the defense, as it can't stop anyone.
And Gabriel's presence would not have put OU on equal footing against Texas with the defense in such shambles.
Gabriel is a talented QB who missed most of the 2021 season and is coming off a cheap shot hit in the TCU game. I expect improvement from him in the second half of the season and from his receiving corps as well.
It's all about improvement and building for next season right now.

You don't move the ball, you wear your defense out. And if you think play calling was the problem against Texas, you seriously mistaken. We're so spoiled around here with the quality of quarterbacks in the last decade, we expect all OUr qb's to be competent. We have one competent quarterback at this point. We have a freshman who will probably get there, but he's not close yet.

Davis is so short of competent. He doesn't understand the offense enough to be even decent. If Dillon stays healthy, we might, might get to seven or eight wins. But six is a lot more likely. If he doesn't, every remaining game will be a loss if he doesn't play.

Hope Gabriel is finding his mojo. He’s got great receivers...and solid RB help to boot. I was very impressed with Gray. He stood out to me as the star of the game. Looks like he and DeMarco are working on things.

Second fumble was not his fault....Barnes hit the ball as he drew his arm back to throw.

The interception looked as if the receiver quit on the route, Not sure why...
