AS a former coach and referee , I must say what a difference between SEC and NCAA calls. In SeC you get away with murder while in NCAA they are whistle happy. I get it sec teams are more physical but discrepancy in the whistle is obvious. Something the league should look into.

The different in style of officiating might cost SEC few tournament games.

Yeah I have no complains about UK game in the tournament. My complaints are with the style of referring on making calls on contact interpretation what creates a disadvantage/ advantage situation that you should call and what you should not call.

For instance Arkansas vs St Johns is over called both ways. Very different from what we have seen in SEC.

They ruined the Arkansas-St. John's game. Way too many touch fouls under the basket, and just fouls in general. It didn't necessarily favor either team, just ruined the game. Thought Tyler Ulis and the "human victory cigar" Masiello were going to have to play there for a minute.

Weren't you the one who was defending the refs for most of this season? I mean, what you're saying today is exactly what a lot of us have been saying all year.. not sure why a day when Kentucky wasn't even playing, was what it took for you to notice it.

Georgia shot 38 free throws against us back in early SEC play. The officiating was a huge reason why we lost that game.

Anyways, I know people hate the reviews.. but IMO that's one of the only ways to fix this: giving more power to the coaches to reverse the bad calls that the officials/NCAA makes. More opportunities to challenge calls (within reason) and more use of technology, to remove the human element and the chance for compromised officiating.

Glad the SEC got an extra team or two in the dance, just to be eliminated in Day 1, at the expense of Kentucky getting a 2-seed. Hope it was worth it.

I will amend my previous statement to say officiating in this Pitino Cal game is not good
Lots of fouls in that game, but dang, they would of still been playing if they called them all. There was some big hits that they let go..
