Looking at the schedules for both teams and speculating on the season ahead:
Ohio State plays home games with Maryland, Penn State and Michigan State and visits Iowa and Michigan. From what I saw last night, especially from J.T. Barrett, I think Ohio State could face a slippery slope the rest of the way. A great win for OU and Riley, but the game last night has me wondering if Ohio State is really a top ten team.

Texas plays at USC, at Iowa State and home against K-State before its game with OU....then plays Ok-State at home the week after OU. It appears we will know just how formidable Texas is by the time OU plays them on 10/14. If Texas loses to USC, but plays a competitive game, that will tell me that the Horns are a threat to, once again, challenge OU severely, just as the last 4 RRR games have shown.
Texas will play OU tough and an upset would put Texas back on track in its rebuilding effort.
Texas seems to have a better offense than Ohio State having scored 97 points in its first two games so they have me concerned.
With Tulane, Baylor and Iowa State to play before the Texas game, OU will enter the RRR unbeaten. So from my perspective, OU needs to keep playing well and get Andrews and Johnson healthy by October 14.

What really shocked me was how well our defense played. Let's show some love for OU defense.
It surprised me too, especially holding Ohio State to one touchdown.
And the defenders never showed fatigue in the 4th quarter.
But again, Ohio State showed me very little on offense because of QB Barrett. I can see now how Clemson beat them 31-0 last year. Frankly, Ohio State is overrated this year.

THEY were The Pretenders...It will be interesting to see how far they fall...

To me, the Big 10 is a flawed conference just like the SEC.

On most Saturday's, Okie State would defeat the likes of Michigan and Penn State.

Ohio State will win their conference.

I agree. I've been hard on Mike Stoops for awhile for good reason. But he earned his pay check last night and deserves little bit of love.
Absolutely!!! One game doesn't make up for everything, but today I absolutely give Mike a TON OF CREDIT for keeping OU in this game until OU's offense could finally stop shooting themselves in the foot and get some TDs in the second half.

I had to listen to the game on internet radio due to my current location. After the game Rufus Alexander was in the booth. He was on the sidelines during the game. He was very high on our O-Line and said it was expected. His highest praise went to the D-Line. He said the defense is much improved. I just watched the game on Youtube. It seemed that Ohio State was running away from Caleb Kelly's side on many plays. Our youngins' really stepped up. This team will have excellent depth barring injuries. Riley gets an A+ for his team utilization tactics.
