OK, Hunter Dickinson. I thought this was very funny.

Granted, in the big picture it’s meaningless and immature. But in that contest in that gym Dickinson set his tone for the rest of the road game against TCU. There were three Toads who jumped in trying to out-man him but Dickinson wouldn’t relent. Yeah, Dickinson ‘selfishly’ picked up an T for it, but he also added 7 of 10 from the field, 9 boards and 4 assists. And he set the tone for at least the rest of that game.

It’s meaningless in the big picture, but kudos to Dickinson for having fire and showing onions. As for the drama queen segment of RR, it was nowhere as ‘incendiary’ as what Magloire did with punk Wojo a few years back, or when Charles Hurt whacked Barkley. I’m among those who’d probably faint if Amari Williams played with that kind of vinegar in a tough game.

Technical on both but no ejections.
Score was 48-47
Kansas outscored TCU 26 to 14

I guess Bully Ball pays off.

I agree with everyone about Dickinson and the type of player he is; but it is somewhat of that attitude going after the ball we could use.
One play that stands out is from the Alabama game; loose ball after a rebound and Bama player going after the ball while Brea stands and bends over trying to get it.
If Brea had some of what Dickerson has in going after a loose ball, he would have fought hard for that ball and not just bent over reaching for it.
Bama scored after that.
Each possession matters.
I think back to an old Pistons player, Bill Lambeir (spelling ?). No way you would take the ball from him and he was considered to be like Dickinson.

Tool, how did he not go to Duke.
Funny you say that because he was begging to come to Duke out of HS apparently but Duke chose Mark Williams over him. Mark had a so-so freshman year but an incredible sophomore year. He is now starting C for the Charlotte Hornets. Seems like Duke dodged a bullet.

My opinion wasn't so much in reaction to the video, just Hunt-Dick in general.

That's interesting, I didn't know the Hornets were even still a team.

Sorry, but his actions coukd just as well backfired and TCU and their crowd could have taken over the game. He and KU got lucky with the win but he was acting like a little spoiled kid on the playground. Can't accept your backing him on this one and comparing to other situations. He was just being a little brat, best way I can describe his childish behavior.

If I was tied up on a reb, I never let the other guy get the ball, especially if I had 2 arms on the ball. Agree HD is a complete tool but this is nothing here. 2 guys that were not going to let go. Took both. HD can suck eggs as far as I am concerned.

I must be missing something ? Hunter got the rebound, he was in possession of the ball. Then the TCU played tied him up for a jump ball. OK, at that point, the TCU player should have released the ball. Hunter was originally in possession it. Then 3 players chase him around (2 who wasn't even part of the play). Hunter is raked cross the coals ? I do not get it ? He simply would not let the TCU players intimidate him. He showed toughness. Maybe we need a little of that on our team when rebounding. I damn sure not going to talk **** about a guy who refuses to let the opponent intimidate or bully him. I can't stand HD the person, but his game and physical play, we sure could use. A big overreaction by some on this board.

Nah, I wouldn't want that walking douche canoe anywhere near this program. Dude basically insulted his family in Paducah. No way I want him wearing a jersey that represents most of the Commonwealth.

Probably in the minority but I like Dickinson. Why do players on opposing teams have to be nice to each other? Screw all the happy go lucky friend BS. If you're on the opposite team I'm trying to kill you.

I don’t think you understand how rivalries work.

Rule #1: you HATE everything about your rival. Players, coaches, fan bases, school colors etc….
Rule#2 : you NEVER acknowledge the good play of a player on a rival team
Rule#3: violating the above rules could result in harsh punishment up and to banishment from board and blanket party recipient.

Govern yourself accordingly.

I've noticed online a lot of Kansas fans seem pretty over the HD experience. They don't think he's a winner, and his me-first attitude hurts the team. Note that as his stats go up and he becomes a bigger part of each team he's on, they seem to become less successful in March.

Freshman (UM) - E8
Sophomore (UM) - S16
Junior (UM) - NIT
Senior (KU) - 2nd rnd
5th year (KU) - we'll see! I probably won't have them getting past the S16 in my bracket.

I thought it was funny. The refs are paid to intervene though. It would’ve been their fault if a brawl started.

Cal may have wanted him, but I didn’t. He acted like a little ***** when we beat him in that London game when he was at Michigan.
I'd literally forgotten how unlikable he was in that game till you mentioned it. The game seemed to last forever cause it's the only time I've ever had the flu. (Knock on wood). I'd literally never been too sick to sleep.

You know.. watched that video again and it looked exactly like what happens between my two five year old grandchildren (they’re cousins) when they fight over a toy
We don’t allow that with them…and it’s certainly not funny
5 yr olds though, I expect it.
I’m with @Wonky ..I never wanted him here. And after seeing him play for the last..what 7-8 yrs now? I can’t stand bim

Who cares who was originally in possession of it? It was called a jump ball. Meaning the whistle blew, and the ball needs to then be handed to the official. BOTH players should have released the ball, not just the TCU player. But they both acted like petulant children instead. Now maybe the TCU player is a jerk too… I don’t know since TCU isn’t on TV all the time like Kansas is. But Dickinson has some incident like this almost every game. He has serious anger/maturity issues.

So the other 2 players from TCU chiming in and going over and grabbing the ball is HD's fault also ? THREE TCU players tried to start static, HD actually just stood his ground and refused to let them intimidate him. Remember, HE had control of the ball, the first player tied him up, HE needs to release the ball, and the other 2 players had no business at ANY point getting involved, they was not part of the play. I do not let my dislike for a player cloud my opinion, try it sometimes. 3 v/s 1, and you want to blame the issue with the one player holding his ground. I can't stand HD, but at the same time, I will not put this issue on him simply because I dislike him. It is called being objective.
