Okay we have finished second (barely, but we did it) in the Big Ten

Let's say we win one in the tourney and finish no worse that fourth.

Or we win two - finish second.

Yeah, I know, win it all, but let's talk only about fourth and second.

Second in the season.
Second or fourth in the BTT.

Do we really only get a six or seven seed in the NCAA? Wouldn't we be higher?

Problem with believing wins will bump us a lot is that other teams with similar resumes can also rack up wins. So it often just ends up maintaining the status quo.

BIG gets respect from the selection committee in number of teams that get in but not necessarily in seeds

Seriously, why couldn't we win 3 in a row? It wouldn't be as daunting as the 3 games we won culminating with the Purdue and IU victories. Or at least it will be much of the same, with the same two final opponents (assuming we get past Illinois or PSU) except this time without the home crowd behind us.

I'll admit, the Penn State loss was a killer and I'd lost a little bit of faith. Glad to see the Cats in control for most of the game last night, get that 12th win, and roll into the B1G tourney on a positive note rather than a 4 game skid.

And while "what-ifs" are a bit silly... I can easily find 2 games on our schedule that I think we let get away. While its awesome we're the 2 seed, its amazing how close we were to winning the whole enchilada...

And a couple games that our opponents saw as games that they let get away.

Barely? Your half empty glass is leaking into a puddle of tears. Hey, the tears will eventually come and all of our dreams will most certainly vanish in a puff of smoke. The playoffs do that to every team but one. Enjoy while ye may.
