Had a special election today and "yes" won the vote by a good margin...62/38. I just moved into Oldham this summer off Exit 14/329 so hopefully there will be some new commercial business coming in. Surprised it took this long with the way Oldham has grown in the last 5 years.

62-38 hell of a turn out for a county wide election. Or was that the percentage.

Celebration Park? Spring Hill? Summerfield?

And, really (not just to nitpick), OC hasn't grown much the last 5 years, my guess. From the mid 70s (when busing started in Jefferson County) until the real estate collapse (2006-ish), it was growing like gang busters. Fastest growing county in the state, I believe. But then....nothing. For a long time, it was difficult to try to count new houses going up - and then, overnight it seemed, you couldn't find a house being built......

Spring Hill.

Last few years have really taken off again, especially in the Goshen area. Nearly every residential loan I have worked in OC has been a new construction. Brentwood is starting to take off in Crestwood and Poplar Woods and Longwood (?) are starting a comeback from sitting for years in the downturn.

I know some people that have moved to Oldham County for the school system. They hated JCPS so they were sending the kids to private school . They figured by saving the money of sending them to public school there they could pay more for the house.with the money they weren't spending on schooling anymore.

I hardly even drink, and think dry counties are idiotic. Let all your residents go to neighboring counties to spend their money, while your county misses out on occupational taxes, etc. Brilliant. Much like Kentucky does by not having casinos. Totally stupid.
