As of now they have the number one ranked class on Rivals. They have two five stars, but wait, those five stars aren't from Mississippi. They are from Texas and Florida. They picked up the number two ranked player in the country over the likes of Alabama and LSU.

Seem to be recruiting out of their minds last few years!!

Yes they are, will very likely finish with a top 5 class this year. They are still on to some highly rated guys too. Don't know who they are the favorites of right now, but they have been Little's leader for some time.

Shea Patterson just transferred to IMG Academy this year to play football and he's an early enrollee, so he's going to end up spending all of about 6 months in Florida. Think he's originally from Monroe, LA or something like that though, so your original point is still valid.

Wasn't there a rumor a while back about Ole Miss cheating in recruiting? Can't remember what it was though. Impressive none the less.

Beating Alabama two years in a row must be a good sell for Hugh Freeze.

Hope this gives some negative Nancy's some belief that we can land good recruits here as well just like Ole Miss.

Hugh Freeze has done an incredible job at Ole Miss, especially considering that he competes for recruits with another SEC team in Mississippi.

What's the appeal of a place like Ole Miss? Not exactly in a thriving metropolis. I'm sure it's a nice college town, but what's the draw of a place like Ole Miss compared to a place like UK? Especially when those guys have better options.

For starters the game day atmosphere at UM is infinitely better than UK's. And the Rebels have better tradition. The biggest difference is the fan base expects more from the program. Ole Miss has had some bad hires - Nutt and Orgeron come to mind - but UM didn't hesitate to cut bait when it was obvious those guys wren going to make it. Unlike UK.

I think the atmosphere on game day is probably a great selling point for recruits. Attending a game at Ole Miss and tailgating in "The Grove" is on my bucket list. It's supposed to be one of the best settings in college football. Ole Miss fans are known to say that they might not always win the football game, but they always win the party. I would think that visiting campus on game day and witnessing that type of atmosphere would be impressive on a recruit.

Bags full of cash. It's the worst kept secret in college sports but they just keep skating by somehow. At some point they will piss off the wrong person and it will all come crashing down.
I didn't want to go down that road considering how much we have to defend our basketball program from similar accusations.

Not so sure! What kind of Kool-Aid is Hugh Freeze selling. Small stadium, one of the smallest in the SEC. Actually not pointing a finger but really what is going on in Oxford?

The treadwell nkimdecke class really got the ball rolling for them. I'm sure there paying players. Who doesn't. You gotta think the state of Mississippi puts out more talent than Kentucky. And that's what they do in that state football 24/7. And for the most part they get there in state kids to stay home. It's just hard to sell UK football it isn't football first here like the rest of the SEC. I think if we got Harris and got a bowl this year there would be more to sell. We just have to start winning and get lucky to put a few great classes together like ole miss. And it starts with getting the best players to stay home. And stoops has done a pretty good job of it.

About 5 years ago the state of Mississippi produced more NFL teams for their population than any other state, but the big guys they are getting are out of state guys.

And come on there is no comparison when it comes to game day atmosphere between UK and ole miss. They may not be the best team in the country every year but defiantly one of the best atmosphere in the country no matter how good or bad they are.

Well Michigan got a huge commitment today and they are #2 in Rivals and the 247 Composite-(Ohio State is #1 in the 247 Composite).

The B1G is making a bold statement...as for Ole Miss they offer playing time next season but the rumors on them have been out there for years.

Nutt - 4 years at Ole Miss last two years were 4-8 then 2-10
Orgeron - 3 years at Ole Miss 3-8, 4-8, 3-9

Yeah, they really cut bait fast don't they. Stop making stuff up to fit your anti stoops mindset.
