It don't matter much now. Only eight teams left for one trophy.

Luckily we avoid UNC and Tennessee in the first\second round. If we win against #7 UGA\#10 NC State we will play either #3 Texas A&M or Florida.

Seeding don't matter much and neither team will have much of a "Home Field" advantage since all the teams are on this side of the Mississippi except for Texas A&M.

Distance from all 8\9 Campuses to Omaha, Nebraska:

#2 Lexington, KY. (Kentucky) - 763 miles
#3 College Station, TX. (TA&M) - 825 miles
#1 Knoxville, TN. (Tennessee) - 916 miles
#7 Athens, GA. (Georgia) - 1,042 miles
#12 Charlottesville, VA. (Virginia) - 1,164 miles
#8 Tallahassee, FL (Florida State) - 1,173 miles
#4 Chapel Hill, NC. (North Carolina) - 1,206 miles
#10 Raleigh, NC (NC State) - 1,230 miles
N\R Gainesville, FL (Florida) - 1,316 miles

Congrats Boys!!! I’ve been a follower of the baseball Cats since the early 90s. It’s been a LONG road but this TEAM has finally done it! I think this could be the start of something special. Go and make some noise!

I dont think it matters who you play at this point. This world series field is loaded regardless.

It's crazy it's just two conferences.

Congratulations. I encourage all Cats fan who can to make the trip. Hotel prices drop as teams lose. It is an all-around good time.

Correct me if Im wrong, but its a 4 team, double elimination bracket now correct? on both sides of the full bracket, to determine who goes to the final?

Yep. It's 8 teams total. 2 brackets with 4 teams each. Double elmination. Basically kind of doing another NCAA tournament where we play a regional and then if we make the finals it's a best of 3 again.

I'm not seeing that. People now making plans that were waiting to see if their team made it to Omaha.

I meant once you are in Omaha you'll see teams lose the first two in their bracket and leave. One strategy that I've implemented is to begin staying in Bellevue, Nebraska and then move into Omaha once prices drop. Council Bluffs, across the river from Omaha, is also less expensive.

Omaha things to do:

Gorat's (Warren Buffet's favorite throwback-style steakhouse/restaurant);
Sullivan's steakhouse (better quality);
Upstream Brewing (also has cask-conditioned offerings and good food);
Ride bike across bridge into Iowa and along the river for exercise and scenery;
Nebraska Furniture Mart (mega furniture, electronics, applicances, etc. store owned by Berkshire);
Visit Boys Town (and watch video in the museum);
Dine, shop, and drink in the Old Market area;
Blatt's (eat and drink sportsbar adjacent to ballpark);
DJ's Dugout (sports bar within walking distance of ballbark that is worthy of a daily visit); and
Casinos in Council Bluffs (if casinos are your thing).

I spent 13 nights in Omaha in 2019 from opening ceremony to closing trophy presentation. I've been five times and found what I like. I'm sure that you'll form your favoritate, too.
