Hard disagree. I like an omelette, but you need the flavor on the outside. Red sauce green sauce, cheese, creams, tobasco. So those hit your tongue first. Egg, meats veggies and more cheese on the inside for the chewing.

Had an omelet this morning. Simple ham and cheese but really wanted some tomatoes and peppers inside. Still a good morning start.

Sprinkle the cheese (sharp cheddar obviously) into the egg mixture and let it cook with the rest of the omelet. I tend to keep it simple; ham, cheese, a FEW diced onions mostly for cooking flavor. Sometimes I will add a little finely ground sausage into it. Make some fresh (no frozen potatoes for this chef), fried (enough to brown) then baked cubed potatoes and some hot buttered toast covered with strawberry jelly. Fine little breakfast.

Ketchup or no ketchup on the fried potatoes ?? , myself, straight, no ketchup.

Not to get too complicated and have too many choices :

Omelet
fried potatoes
buttered toast with strawberry jelly
Glass (MUST be glass) OJ

It's funny that top chefs always say, when testing new hires, they have the applicant cook a plain omelet. the point being that there is nothing to hide behind. It's 100 percent skill.

The people that invented it, or rather, made it famous would tell you that if you want cheese in it then go to Waffle House.

How do you feel about old El Paso?

My every morning breakfast used to be a SPAM omelette with pepper jack cheese, and hot pickled veggies or jalapeños. A few years ago I switched from SPAM to crispy fried tofu to help with my cholesterol. I top the omelette with sriracha sauce or sometimes some good homemade salsa.

Sure they would. But these are the people who would say the same thing if you wanna put ketchup on your steak. So what do they know?

Rarely get an Omelet but since i live very close to Merrick Inn, ill occasionally get The West Lex. Pretty good.

The West Lex | An Italian omelet, with a western twist, made with diced bacon, sausage, country ham, roasted onions, and cheddar cheese. Served with red skin breakfast potatoes and a toasted English muffin

I know. Strawberry? 🤮
SO I take it you do not eat jelly on toast ?? WOW, I didn't know I was the only person who put jelly on toast ??? I guess you are one of the caveman manners while eating who just uses toast to scrap up the loose food on the plate at the end of your meal. Probably eat your eggs with your hands while grunting the whole time. Oh, try this for breakfast, EAD.

I enjoy omelets but I absolutely hate my eggs being overdone. So it is tough to get a proper omelet without browning of the eggs, which is a no go for me, so I never order them out.

If you ever had an omelet made by Chef Gil at the Executive Inn in Owensboro, you might change your mind. (RIP Executive Inn)

My mom’s office was in there when I was a kid. I spent way too much time running around that building

Bob Evans has some good omelets. Try the Western Omelet with a side of home fries.

So, cheese goes in the fold of an omelette. Anything else in the fold?

Should the other ingredients, if any, go in the egg bath as it is being made or also be placed in the fold?

Cook the ingredients except the cheese first, then put them in the fold with the cheese.
