My whole family is sleeping.... I stripped down and threw everything I wore outside. F---ng thank G-d for OFF. I can't sleep every degree in sensation on my body makes me jump and think tick.

The Greatest thing about today was went to Pennypack creek and fished trout (released). Caught ticks. Can't sleep I'm still freaked.

Shalom

One of the few times it is good to be “ticked-off!”

Tried permethrin for the first time this weekend. So far, so good. Had a tick crawling on the outside of my pant leg the weekend before despite using Off, which was the only thing I h
You can send the tick to be tested for various diseases for free. Go to ticklab.org for details.
They went right into the toilet. But it took pics I'll try to donload.

I thought it was just me. Pulled one off 10 days ago, vet said yeah they've been seeing them since mid-March. Long pants/long sleeves and make sure the dogs are dosed on Bravecto.
The neighbor also told me he saw an article a month ago that Lymes disease was a 'laboratory escape' pathogen, said lab being conveniently located in North Lyme, Connecticut. He's not the tin-foil hat kinda guy.

My wife and I have a vacation house in the Poconos. I’ve pulled off many ticks over the years. We went for the first time this season last weekend, getting there around dinner time. Unpacked the car, then got back in to drive to dinner and found one on my thigh. Just from walking back and forth to the car a couple times.

Luckily I seem to have an allergy to them or something because I start to itch very quickly, usually before they get dug in.

Spent most of the weekend cleaning up downed branches and leaves in shorts, no repellent — yeah, stupid — and came away with just one more bite. Never saw it but I have an itchy spot that’s still healing like the first one. I must have knocked it off without realizing.

Had Lime disease - caught it early due to the classic bullseye rash but damn these things are everywhere again this year in SEPA - dog has had 5 on him already we pulled off.
It's a hell of a disease, Had it acutely undiagnosed and turned into chronic. Went 18 months with neurological symptoms, headaches, weight loss, fatigue, muscle pain. Eventually I had to rebuild my vitamin levels to a point where my body was healthy enough to fight it off. Been a few years now and no re-occurrence but I wouldn't wish that 18 months on anyone.

Good note when we go up to state college in June. Down here in south cackalacky we have fire ants. Got bit by a bunch last month and it took a month for the bites to go away. First week ankles were on fire!!

Yes, it can be very destructive.

My nephew got it last year at a music festival he was bedridden for two months. Fortunately, no bite marks but the slightest breeze I feel I start ripping my clothes off thinking it's a tick, glad I had no court appearances today.

I once took the family dog camping and she came home with approximately 75 ticks. I have photo evidence (ticks were picked off and put in a jar).
She lived until 17 years old.
